Snotty nose & cough
My 1 year old fell poorly last Sunday and then me and partner fell poorly two days after.
My son still has a snotty nose and a chesty cough. It’s one of those coughs where you can hear all the flem in his chest when coughing.
He has no temperature & is himself.
He has also just started nursery once a week as well.
Is this normal for it last this long? Would the doctors do anything if he doesn’t have a temp?
Any advice would be appreciated

Lots of sympathy! We are in the same boat. Both of mine have had constant colds since starting a new nursery in September. They just roll from one illness to the next. I have one in the baby room and also a nearly 3 year old, do they are both picking up different things, then giving it to each other! If yours has just started nursery unfortunately it is totally normal until their immune system can battle germs better. I remember my eldest taking until about Christmas to finally recover when he first started nursery two years ago. 😅It is a bit of a slog but they will get there.
Always ask a Dr if you are unsure though, but if it is just a cold they will advise lots of fluids and calpol. It might just be that he has just picked up another cold that has similar symptoms. Hope it improves soon!
We had this and he had a raging temp for days, super lethargic sleeping all the time and was generally really unwell (also started nursery about 5 weeks ago) ended up in hospital one of the evenings as he was awful. It took 11 days for him to be back to himself and even now 2 weeks later he still has a bit of a snotty nose and cough! I’m pretty sure it was Covid as I also felt horrific for about 10 days! X
My little girl is the same and started nursery 3 weeks ago.. since starting there hasn’t been a day she’s not had something wrong with her! X
