You can wait to switch until they are at the Max weight limit for that seat but I switched my baby girl at about 8 months.

Depends on your baby. Usually they'll hit the top of the car seat before the weight limit but there's no age limit. Check your manual or sticker on the seat for the max limits as every manufacturer and seat will have different ones.

I switched because my boy outgrew his by 5 months. But I know kids who didn’t outgrow until closer to a year. So it depends on the baby and your preference.

We stopped using ours around eight months, because our side was getting too heavy for the infant seat, and it just made sense to switch.

We switched a few weeks ago (LO turns 9 months tomorrow) cause we noticed she was crying more in the infant seat, like she was uncomfortable, even for short drives. Moved her to the convertible seat and she loves it!!

I'm installing his new seat soon... it's actually been sitting in my living room for a month... I'm switching because he is too heavy for the carrier well for me to keep carrying lol

I switched at 4 months but that was for my convenience. She was always awake when i had to shop and the infant seat takes up too much room in the cart so I never took it in. I'm short so the infant seat is a real inconvenience but she was 6lbs at birth and I felt too small for a convertible seat as they sit more upright

Basically when they max the hight and weight limit. But most people change them sooner because the baby gets to be to much to carry around in the seat. The baby’s weight plus car seat weight can make it even more harder to carry. We haven’t switched yet and are trying to hold off as long as we can because we haven’t bought the new car seat and are still trying to figure out the best one for us.

2 choices on when to switch:
1. When baby gets too heavy
Or
2. When baby reaches the height, weight, OR head height limit of your infant seat

You can switch at anytime as long as they are heavy enough, our nuna convertable suggests 5 lbs-40 lbs back wards and then forewards to 100 lbs

My baby was extremely small but I stopped wanting to carry her infant car seat by 6 months when her chicco 35 weighed like 30 lbs without her in it so I figured I would rather just baby wear her

We stopped when my son was around 1/when he was too heavy to carry. We waited as long as possible because I liked using the seat where we can put it in the stroller or if he was sleeping bringing the car seat inside and letting him finish the name
