Tummy Time

My 9 week old still struggles with tummy time, is that normal? She’s fine when held on my shoulder, she holds her neck up fairly well, obviously wobbles a bit still but when put on the floor with a tummy time pillow she can’t lift her neck. She tries but gets frustrated and cries. I’m aware they say they should be holding their neck up at 3 months. Just wanted to check how other babies at a similar age were doing? X

Mine hated it and also had a wobbly neck for ages and I didn’t do much tummy time and he just naturally rolled one day also x

Every baby reaches milestones at different times so I wouldn’t be worried especially because she’s only 9 weeks. Also, most babies hate tummy time at first and get frustrated simply because they can’t lift their necks yet hahaha so just do extra tummy time and over the next few weeks you should see her start to improve and enjoying it more. My little guy hates it too but he’s super strong already and looking around and trying to roll like crazy 😂 it’s hard to even change his diaper he’s so strong

Honestly my 18 month old never did tummy time. We didn’t do it because we were waiting for our home to be ready for us to move in so we were living in a shoebox bedroom in my moms with no room for us to really do this properly, but secondly he absolutely hated it! My son still met these milestones and made good progress with them (early actually) tummy time is highly recommended, but is not necessary.
