I’d like to talk to other women who are either pregnant or have children and are suffering with OCD. And those who had it during pregnancy but it’s gone since giving birth.
I’ve suffered with it since I was in my early teens but largely have it under control unless a major life event happens. Well of course being pregnant now, my OCD is the worst it has ever been. As an anxious person who has suffered pregnancy loss in the past, it’s no wonder my compulsions are at an all time high. But it is really disrupting my day to day life, for example I can’t take off my rings on my ever swelling fingers for fear something terrible is going to happen to my baby.
Can anyone relate? Does anyone have any advice? Did anyone get it under control after giving birth?

iv had to deal with it also becoming much more overwhelming now that pregnant.

The only thing I’ve learned that’s working is if you’re stuck in a worry loop (or any kind of obsessive loop) break it immediately with something small. Like a different activity. Even in a different room. The best way to stop compulsions is to say no to them. Does that make sense?
