I'm not sure about where you live, but I'm in Canada, and we have a Nissan Rogue (2023), and we love it. It's pretty affordable and very spacious.

We love our Nissan qashqai. It was a bit more than your budget but we did get one only a couple of years old. We looked at the x-trail as well, and pretty much any bigger car 😂 but I had my heart set on the qashqai and still love it

A Dacia. We have a 5 seat Dacia sandero stepway and it’s great for us xx

A lot of suv look bigger than they are, basically hatchback in tilts. I’d go for an estate like the Octavia so much room. If you do want an suv style a Peugeot 5008 is big. Volvos are great (has lower tether points which are a godsend for next stage extended rear facing seats). From being in car seat groups people seem to recommend Hyundai Tucson, be Tiguan and Kia sportage x

I’ve got a Nissan Juke and love it. Boot is spacious, enough room in the back for 3 kids (2 car seats) and i’ve had it since 2017 (2015 plate) and *knock on wood* never had to do any major repairs, just the usual brake pads etc.
I’d recommend one, have a look on autotrader i’m not sure how much they are these days second hand!
