Over Feeding

Does anyone else’s baby take around 180ml in a feed? Every 4 hours. (5/6 weeks old) we’ve been told by the doctor he’s over-feeding. He doesn’t look like he is over fed but he is a little bit chubby. We’ve tried to reduce his feed by the doctors advice, but he’s crying and crying and it’s awful to see. Has anyone else had similar?

my boy is 5 weeks and usually has about 5/6 oz every 3 hours i was having the same worry but after lots of reading i honestly don’t think it’s possible to over feed as such, i feel as if they’ll drink what they need seen as their little bodies are growing so fast. id 100x rather “over” feed than let them go hungry!!xx

- especially if they don’t settle after the “recommended” amount it can be so tough as you can tell they aren’t satisfied, id definitely just go with your own instincts and what you feel is right☺️

My boy is 5.5 weeks and takes 180ml every 3-4 hours also. My GP said it’s fine if he wants it and isn’t being sick, which he’s not. He’s also a chubby one and has gone up from 75th percentile on birth chart to 91st. Health visitor told me it’s okay to go up one band of percentile but not 2.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

How many words

Just a quick gauge of how many words your little ones are saying at this age. I heard by 15 months it should be 5 words, are most around this mark ?
