My sister in law told me that for her second they cut them in front of him and had him throw them away, obviously he still missed them but he was forced to find a new comfort method after…
I’m thinking about explaining it to my daughter the best that I can next month and have her pick out a toy at the store and tell her that it’s going to replace her binkies because she’s a big girl. But there’s multiple ways you can get rid of them, you’ll just have to be patient and strict on not having them anymore… I wish you luck because I’ll be going through it soon😭 hope someone else gives you ideas too❤️

I honestly never thought we would see the day our daughter was obsessed, would even put them in between her toes and hold some to sleep as well as sucking on one.
We did it at Christmas and told her that Santa brings us new toys as we’ve been good and we have to put the dummies on the Christmas tree for Santa to take back to the workshop to make new ones for the babies that have been good
First week was hard without them but then we never heard about them after that
She was 3 years old when we did it x

We just went cold turkey and he ended up sucking his thumb every now and then, wishing you the best of luck tho 😅

How old is she

I am thinking how to get rid of the dummies as well. He is 9 and half month and start teething. Would like to have it only at the nights for a while

Hey y’all what’s a dummy?!

I cut my daughters dummy when she wasn’t in her room then I acted shocked and told her I think she’s chewed it off because she has all her teeth now so that’s dangerous (I was very dramatic with it😂)
She cried but then she wanted to put the broken dummy in the bin then that was that, not had it or asked for it since

Absolutely cold turkey after his second birthday. However he was only having it for bedtime (he no longer napped) so I definitely think that made it easier. You could try to reduce to nap/bed first and then get rid after that

She’s 3 in October but she finds comfort in them when she hurts herself or is tired! I’ve told her the Easter bunny will take them and give her chocolate but she’s having none of it🤦🏼♀️😂

Poke a tiny hole in it and they will eventually think that it sucks and will stop. Say that you can’t buy anymore and that stores don’t sell them anymore or something. Just go with the flow.
