New born bath

I know we definitely won’t give a bath right away, what is the recommended time to give baby an actual bath(instead of sponge bath)

I've seen people wait a week I think I waited about a week and a half honestly as long as it's over a week and under a month I think it's okay, it's good for the mucus to stay on them but also if you're going out a lot with your newborn I would probably bath sooner idk

The umbilical cord has to be healed first!

We bathed in the hospital on day 2 with the nurse and when we got home she didnt have a proper bath for about 3 weeks.

It’s when their umbilical cord falls off. So for that it could be a few days or multiple weeks. Because that area needs to stay dry. So they can’t have a full bath until then. Before that especially if it doesn’t fall off for a few weeks then you can do their hair and head get that wet or use a wash cloth. And then that could be whenever you want. But some wait a few days after leaving the hospital or like a week. Or if your baby spits up a ton or has a blow out probably do it then instead of waiting. Or if they don’t blow out or don’t spit up you could probably wait longer for a bath. I know people like to leave that stuff on their baby but for me I think a few days is good enough and then i can start cleaning to help get rid of crustiness or dry skin or cradle cap

I did it day 10, we had a visitor that day who held him and in the evening he smelled like perfume and I really hated it. I wanted that smelled washed off him.

Our midwife advised to wait until the umbilical cord has fallen off. It fell off after 4 days and we bathed her after seven. We did wash her genitals under the sink 1-2x before that to clean her after nappy changes.

4 month regression

I feel like the worlds worst parent.
My baby is 18 weeks old and has become the lightest sleeper. I have tried sleep training, co-sleeping, feeding to sleep, rocking and patting to sleep but he just wakes up as soon as his head hits the crib. I make sure I he not up to long in the day and go over any wake windows and he lets me contact nap or put him in the najel sleep carrier but that doesn’t work at night. I’m not sure if I didn’t put him down enough when he was smaller and that’s had an effect with this now.
I speak to other mums who babies are the same age and they all sleep through the night.
Can any one tell me what I am doing wrong please. This will be week 4 with hardly a sleep now.

Bath

Please spare any negativity as I feel extremely embarrassed writing this.

I have PPD. I have a 5 month old & a 2 year old. I have physical health issues.

My 5 month old hates the bath, and has only had 4 since she was born. I wash her daily with mustela water but I feel like I'm neglecting her for not giving her more baths.

Logistically I am struggling, as well as physically. I cannot even get in the bath myself due to mobility.

I’ve given up being anonymous 😂

Hi mums, I’m really looking for some advice because I’m feeling angry and hurt.

I’m a first-time mum and my son is still very young. Over the past few months, things with my mother-in-law have become increasingly difficult. There have been hurtful comments towards me, criticism about my parenting, and issues with boundaries.

There was also an incident where my son was unwell and struggling with feeding. Instead of asking how he was or showing concern, we felt accused of lying or exaggerating the situation and keeping her away from him. That really hurt, especially as we were already worried and trying to do what was best for our baby.

My partner and I decided to take some space because the situation was affecting us as a family. I recently reached out to her myself because I genuinely wanted to try and talk things through calmly. I suggested meeting for a walk and having an honest conversation, but she ignored my message and instead called my partner while he was at work.

When he didn’t answer, she told him that if he didn’t answer, “this whole situation was going to get a whole lot worse” and that she had spoken to people who said she had a “high chance of winning.”

The thing that has really upset me is that she has previously told both me and my partner that she would take our son away from us. Hearing words like “winning” and “fighting for my grandson” has made me feel like my child is being used as a threat or a way to pressure us.

I completely understand that grandparents love their grandchildren and want to be involved, but I don’t believe a child should ever be used as leverage in adult disagreements. My partner and I just want a respectful relationship where boundaries are listened to.

At this point, I honestly feel like I don’t even want a relationship with her anymore. I feel like too much has been said and done, and I’m struggling to see how we move forward after feeling like my child has been used against us. Part of me feels like no contact is the only way I can protect my peace and focus on my little family.

Has anyone experienced anything similar with a family member? How did you handle it when someone brought your child into conflict or threatened to take them away? I’m just looking for advice and support because this has been really stressful.❤️

I need help

So my baby's turning 4 months next week. He usually slept fine, would wake up for 2/3 feedings per night and since 2 days he has been waking up every hour,
I'm not sure what to do. Nothing has changed in his bed time routine. I give him a bath, i give him the bottle and he goes to sleep after a while.
He doesn't fully wake up, he stirs, then tries to roll or get up and cries if i take too long to pick him up.
What should i do?
