40+1 today and had a failed sweep yesterday. It’s so annoying when I see all these babies coming early but I keep telling myself she’ll come when she’s ready 🤰🏽

I asked for a sweep at my 39 week appointment. My cervix was closed but my midwife said don’t be disheartened as my babys head is low and my cervix is soft she massaged my cervix and said I can have another one at my next appointment on Thursday. Since then I had bloody dark brown red mucous show so we shall see if it has helped

They said this to me when I went for a sweep at 40 weeks said it failed and cervix high and closed! Came home cried and next day I went into labour!!😂

Avatar

so they did do a sweep, your cervix wasn’t closed?

Avatar

No they attempted one and she said can’t do it cervix is closed go home come back in a week and I literally went home and went into labour that night 😂 shows how quickly things can change!

No wayyy!
I’ve felt really achy down below and since having the examination where they’ve said my cervix is closed, I’m literally bent over double. I can’t walk properly, I am so uncomfortable.
I feel okay when I’m lying down but to walk is the most discomfort I’ve been in 9 months and getting the odd period pain coming and going! X

Success on the second sweep! Cervix was open and she managed to do a sweep and felt baby’s head which is weird to imagine!

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Braxton hicks

I’m currently 34 weeks and have been experiencing braxton hicks for the past few weeks however have been having cramps almost like very strong period cramps In my lower stomach. I’ve mentioned this to my midwife and she only really asked if I’d been keeping hydrated and taking my vitamins which I am but didn’t really proceed to tell me if this was normal or related to braxton hicks also, has anyone else experienced this?

Help

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

Is this braxton hicks or early labour pains?

Little girl turning herself sideways in next to me

My little girl tonight, has spun herself so she is lying sideways in her next to me, making me panic!

Is this normal at 4.5 months, do I just lie her back normally/vertically?
