I don’t know…

I feel so sad almost two months after giving birth. I feel emotionally broken and I often feel like crying and I start thinking about how my life has changed and how much I would like to go back to before. I miss my job, my free time, I miss who I was.

I’m worried this might be me soon! I read that not all mamas experience the feeling of exhilaration after birth. So this is normal, but you may want to speak to a psychologist just in case it was a postpartum depression?

Thanks for your comment . I try to force myself every day, but there are days where it is very difficult. I repeat to myself that soon there will be better days, but sometimes they are dark and repetitive days like a loop

I’ve never felt the need to have a baby, but my partner did, so of course now that I’m pregnant I look forward to the new chapter in our lives but I don’t feel as excited as other mums to be. I try not to overthink but I do worry sometimes that I’ll miss my good life and my old me. It is a massive change so maybe allow yourself some time to feel whatever you are feeling and take it slowly without huge expectations. It will get better

I feel the exact same! It’s so hard isn’t it and even just losing the social aspect of going to work. My baby is 2 months and is clingier now more than ever and as harsh as it is I just enjoy my own space even with the baby. I’m holding onto the hope it gets easier and gets better

I’m only starting my maternity leave in January, but I’ve finished my project and it looks unlikely that I will have another one before I go on maternity leave, so I guess I do have a sample of what you are experiencing right now. I’m just not tied to a baby yet.

Also maybe try and find a new passion or a course online that would help you grow and make your life a little more interesting? Just an idea. Of course meeting other mums is as important even just for a chat. The winter weather approaching doesn’t help with the social aspect..

I feel like this some days now and my baby is 5 months old. I absolutely adore her but it is really hard being a mum. People kept saying “it gets better” to me but I never believed them but I finally feel that things are becoming more easier and getting to know her more. I find maternity leave so hard as well as I don’t have many mum friends. Just keep talking to people and don’t hide how you feel. 🧡

It helps a lot if you could do something different everyday even if it’s small. If your routine is the same over and over again than you will sink into depression. One thing I would say is accept help if it’s offered to you and give yourself some space just to have alone time. Your still the same person just doing different things.

Not sure if this will help or give any reassurance my son is now 2 years old. I found the first couple of months after giving birth very difficult mentally. I think it’s completely normal to have the feelings you’re feeling. Try not to be too hard on yourself. Motherhood is very scary place at times. Full of lots of responsibilities and pressure, but also full of an overwhelming sense of love for your little one. For me its just been time that has helped. Getting used to being a mum. Finding a routine that works for us all which took the 2 years to figure out 😂 and still changes. And just remember to enjoying the little moments and be proud of everything you are doing to support your little one. It’s hard having time for your self as a mum I found a bit of self care helped me to still feel like me. Me and my son have been through some hard times he was none verbal until last month and is on a waiting list for some more development checks. We still face hard days but It does get easier❤️

Hello, thanks for your comment.
you're right, many people don't understand, especially my partner sometimes. unfortunately we are Italian and with Brexit it is difficult to enter without a passport and there are no direct flights to England from our country in Italy. so our families can't be here to help. the language doesn't help me much, and I don't know any mothers around me to make new friends

Also look into Post Natal Depression. Just in case. X
