When go call GP
Hey ladies, my wee girl is I’ll with a cold, sore throat, wakes with a very crusty nose that takes a lot of time to get it off. Mild conjunctivitis since last Tuesday. The cold / sore throat seems to be quite bad today. Temp under control with paracetamol and ibrofen. Taken the day off work as she’s very upset/ crying today.
I’m not one to really call the GP about myself ever. I’m not sure when I should call the GP about my little one. She doesn’t have a temp?
Is there some guidance to generally follow somewhere?

If it’s just a snotty nose and general cold then I wouldn’t ever take them to the doctors for it. They can’t do anything for it. BUT if it starts to move to the chest and won’t clear with a temp as well id probably get seen just to make sure they don’t need antibiotics for a chest infection.
Id get the conjunctivitis sorted at a pharmacy if you’re not going to the docs. They can prescribe eye drops to clear it faster than just bathing it.
Poor girl sounds like she’s feeling awful
Depending on how many days your little one has had calpol/nurofen they should be seen, if its 5+ days of having them then I'd get her seen. She might have. A mild infection can be treated without antibiotics but if they're needed ots best to get them as soon as possible. My 13 month old is my 3rd and I had him at the doctors a few weeks ago as he wasn't getting better and had reached the limit foe Iver the counter treatments, we had a delayed prescription for antibiotics that wasn't needed in the end but his ears and throat were mildly infected and he was nowhere near his usual self. I never go to the doctors for myself unless I have to, but for my children I'd rather have them checked out to be on the safe side x
Thanks ladies! It’s good to know when is best to treat at home and see a doctor. Got an appointment for today, I feel like they will probably tell me to continue treating at home, but just want to be sure there is nothing else underlying or I can do. After I called the gp, she has developed a rash all up her bad so glad we are seeing a gp now 😅xx
Definitely good to get checked over, I've been to the docs a few times for my boy whose had the same symptoms as yours and they can give a good indicator on ears/throat/chest and let you know if it's quite severe or actually not too bad and just needs abit longer to clear up on its own x
