Yes, far too much. It will stretch their bellies and then they will need more to feel full. 2-3 oz every 2-3 hours

maybe try pacing his feeds and burping every ounce or so. i know that can be hard to do, especially with a screaming baby, but sometimes they eat more when they don’t register that they’re full. i had to get a smaller nipple flow for my little one (she’s 5 weeks) because she would finish a 4oz bottle in less than five minutes. she now takes around 15 mins to finish a 4-5oz bottle and doesn’t act hungry after

Get a smaller nipple flow and try to feed him sideline hold and holding the bottle straight don’t raise it up. That way he won’t be gulping down the milk but drinking it slower. There are bunch of videos on Youtube. Also, make sure he burps even if he screams. My daughter does this and first time I caved in to her cries and fed her continuously and she spat out her milk and almost choked! Lesson learned always burp 10 second of drinking, remove the bottle, another 10 second of drinking, then burp. Yes, feeding will be longer but it’s worth it at the end. Good luck!

same I had her in the 31st too and her first feed she fed for 1 hour immediately after birth and she continues to feed like that or cluster feed even I can’t see how much she’s drinking I feel like it’s too much

sometimes they scream bc of the flow of the nipple. I would try to do a slower nipple (I use a preemie nipple for my 2 week old to pace her feeds) and keep her upright, not laying down to feed and the bottle horizontal. Also look for hunger cues early so that he doesn’t get to the point of screaming. It takes about 15 min for our brains to know we are full so slowing him down will help him

I also recommend a smaller nipple. My baby is 3 weeks old and the doctor recommended we use the premie size nipple and pace feed. I just recently found out upset tummy cues look the same as hunger cues. At first I thought my little guy was always hungry, but now I am realizing some of those cues are from gas, upset stomach, etc. If he is over eating, it is very likely that some of those cues are from an upset stomach. Increase burping or try holding your baby on your forearm on their tummy. The pressure on the stomach helps get some of the air out.

I had a similar problem. My lactation specialist said try try side lying paced bottle feeding. It really helps.
