It’s a virus so the body has to do its thing. I did use a zinc oxide cream (Avène Cicalfate) to help with blisters healing. Sometimes zinc is also in diaper cream like triple paste. For you, you can take lidocaine lozenges (I did this when I had it a couple years ago). For baby maybe ibuprofen if they are old enough. I let my son suck on ice cubes and popsicles for the mouth blisters. Good luck mama!
My daughter was up all night crying. I gave her tylenol trying to help. How long did it last for your little ones?
We are literally just getting over HFM, and this is what we used on my 2 year old. Please don’t put anything on the blisters to keep them wet, it will only spread it and make it worse. You have to try to dry them out especially on the butt.
It was the worst thing to see my son go through he was so uncomfortable. It lasted about 10 days before it went to just scabs and marks that didn't hurt him and he was feeling better.
Use caution yourself, you can get hfm as well. I got it when my daughter did and it was horrible
The Desitin maximum strength (purple lid container) its the best ointment out there!! Really made a difference when my girl got hand-foot mouth
My son and I both got hfm, there unfortunately is no way to get rid of it faster. You can only help manage the discomfort from it but it has to run its course unfortunately.
