Can anybody explain nub theory please?!

Had a scan today at 14+4 and I really thought I’d mastered the nub theory last time and was convinced it’s a boy but now I don’t know. I don’t even know if what I’m seeing here is a nub or not anymore, I’m lost 🫣

oh really?! Is that the same with the latest scan do you think? Somebody told me last time it could be early girl but could also rise to boy so I don’t know if that’s happened or not 🫣

the ones in the second lot of comments look very girly

That looks like a girl. The nub usually disappears after 14+0 (develops into actual bits!) so if it was a boy you'd see quite a lot between the legs at 14+4, and the 12 week nub is parallel, which usually points to girl as well.

Girls are way harder to confirm for sure though, so you may have to wait for gender scan to be 100% (or get a NIPT/gender blood test).

Both of my daughter's nubs looked like your 12 week scan ❤️

Thank you both! We’ve got a gender scan in a few weeks, can’t wait to know if you’re right! We’ve got barely any girls on either side of our families so a girl would be amazing 🤩 but of course happy either way! Xx

If the bladder is closer to the numb the little lining at the end of the baby that kinda flicks out it’s a girl if not it’s it’s a boy if the spine is lower and kinda curved it’s a girl if it’s in the middle it’s a boy

Avatar

ohh thank you! What do you think based on the first 3 pics then in this post? xx

Avatar

well the numb is closer to the bladder and the bladder shape makes me think girl and the spine is rather low and kinda goes up towards the head so I assume the nub theory would day girl x

eek exciting! Thank you. I have my gender scan in 12 days so I’ll update on here when I know! x

Scan needed at 33 weeks

Hi ladies! I just had a midwife appointment (I am 33+5)..the midwife was different to my usual midwife. She's requested I have a scan within 72 hours as she said baby is measuring a little small, however, she did say that it's likely nothing to worry about and it's probably just her measuring me a bit different to my usual midwife. Has anyone else had this? Am a bit worried although babys heartbeat and movements are completely fine.

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲

Rolling milestone at 5 months - What’s typical ?

Good morning ladies,

My daughter will be 5 months old tomorrow, but there’s still no sign of her rolling. She does tummy time and loves lying on her mat, playing with hanging toys above her and to the sides, but she only lifts her legs and doesn’t seem interested in rolling or moving sideways yet.

Anyone else the same or have your babies already learnt how to roll yet ?

Thank you
