Low-lying placenta

Yes I'm 20 weeks and I had my 20 week scan yesterday and they told me that I have a low lying placenta too. The midwife told me it won't affect my little girl at all and I will probably need a cesarean when the time comes (I'm due the end of March) that doesn't matter to me though because I want one anyway.

They offered me an internal ultrasound yesterday but I said no so I have to have one at 32 weeks and my consultant will go through birth options with me

Heya yeah I was told the same at my 20 week scan. But will be getting it checked at my 32 week appointment To check to see if it’s Moved. But I’ve been told majority of the time it moves up by itself xx

This is #4 for me and 1st time I'm going through this. I go back for an ultrasound in 3ish weeks and then again at 32 weeks. But my Dr said the chances of the placenta not moving is like 1 in 200.

My cousin also had the same problem on her 2nd pregnancy and by the time she was 32-35 weeks the placenta had moved and she was able to deliver vaginally.

Im going through the same. Also just got diagnosed at my anatomy scan

Mine is close but not overlapping yet they said if it does move and start to overlap i will more than likely have to have a c-section i am having scans at 28 and 34 weeks anyway to check growth as i had a rather large baby first time around

Yep. Had a low lying placenta with my first that was stubborn! Didn’t end up moving until 34 weeks but it did eventually move. I’ve heard that in 90% of cases it does move between 20-30 weeks.
