So we have just moved to using formula exclusively (along with introducing solids) after mainly breastfeeding until about 4/5 months. So formula is quite new to me and I’m wondering how you deal with night feeds. Right now I’m having to get up about 2/3 times in the night and go to the kitchen to make up a bottle for my baby to have a few sips and then fall back asleep. I get because he was used to doing this with breastfeeding for comfort but I feel like I’m wasting loads of milk (and time) because he’s not wanting a full feed. Any advice? I’m worried I’m missing something obvious or is this just normal?
{I have tried continuing to breastfeed and it just wasn’t happening so eventually chose to stop fighting that battle.}

You can buy a warmer that keeps the bottle warm in-between feeds that keeps. I’m in a similar position, and that’s what I do, that way you can make up 8-9oz and if they only feed 4oz, pop it back in the warmer until the next feed. I keep the warmer in the room too, to save having to go back down to the kitchen

Just wanted to say.. You can only keep the bottle for 2 hours once made, then after baby has had some, it needs to be discarded after an hour, to avoid bacteria growth 😊

My LB was exactly the same when I switched. I combi fed at first and just prepped some 2 Oz bottles for night.
If you have a prep machine I highly advise taking it upstairs as mad as it sounds this saved me in the early stages. After about 2 week's my LB went longer for feeds on formula and had bigger feeds. Now I've switched to just formula just before starting weaning and he sleeps through the whole night.
It's a process but not a super long one. BF babies also use boob for comfort where they don't actually have food so she may just be looking for mummy snuggles rather than food at night also x

Have you tried settling baby to sleep without a feed since it sounds like they’re looking for comfort rather than food?

With my first one I was bringing up in my room some cold boiled water and some hot boiler water in thermos
And 3botthes and formula up in room
So to don’t go up and down in night time
And I was making no more than 120ml or depends 150ml
I was wasting same because sometimes he was too hungry sometimes no
I think it’s normal

I was going to say the same. Do they have a dummy? Or do they just need a cuddle? My LO has been formula fed since 11 weeks (pumped breastmilk before that) and we tend to only make a bottle if he won’t settle by being rocked for a few minutes. He’ll tend to only have 1x 7oz in the night and will drink the whole thing in one.

When I switched over to formula from EBF it took a while for my baby to take any more than 4oz in one go xx
