Nappy rash - daktacort hydrocortisone cream

Never heard of it for nappy rash but it’s a steroid cream for bacterial infections so a bit weird to be prescribed that. Have you tried the yellow tube of metanium? When my sons rash is really bad I’ll use a pea size of that and it works wonders

😩 hopefully the cream will do the job after completing the course? Nappy free time is good for them too but I know not practical with clean ups

I use the metanium with every change when my son has a nappy rash and it usually clears it within 24 hours. I've used the cream you've been prescribed on myself when I got a contact rash from a laundry pod that didn't dissolve and was stuck in the armpit of my work uniform and I just didn't notice until it was too late and it cleared it up in a few days but it did get worse first for a day or so and then really kicked in and sorted it out

Yes, my 9 month old has been prescribed this cream, along with a few others but nothing seems to be working! If anything the nappy rash is getting worse 😫

Thank you, we went back to out of hours gp they have prescribed clotrimazole cream and I have changed from metanium to Bepantham. Hope it works. 🤞
