Just wondering if anyone is having to take paracetamol regularly during their pregnancy?
I'm waiting for some dental work to be done in a couple of weeks and in the meantime the toothache is awful. If I take paracetamol I'm fine but I know the official advice is lowest dose possible for least amount of time so I'm trying to limit as much as I can.
I just wondered if anyone else is in a similar situation and what your midwife's advice was? I'm conscious that im bring grumpy with my toddler because im in pain but then don't want to take paracetamol regularly because of baby. I'm seeing my midwife on Tuesday so plan to ask her then.

I had covid and then a sinus infection following that and took paracetamol for 2 weeks regularly. Both doc and midwife said it was absolutely fine

Honestly, paracetamol is fine.
I suffered really bad with pain and migraines (I’m a migraines sufferer normally too) at the start of my pregnancy. My GP and midwife both said I can take paracetamol as the normal stated dose and it would be totally safe. I now take at least two tablets a day most days.
They also advised that if I did have unbearable pain/migraine, then a short burst of codeine or cocodamol was okay too as long as it wasn’t prolonged usage. They only one they warned me about was the codeine as it can lead to some short term breathing difficulties with baby when they’re born (nothing long term though) x

I ache when I’m in bed and told my midwife and she said said to take paracetamol as long as you don’t go over the usual recommended dose a day

Thanks so much everyone for your replies, completely put my mind at ease. I'll definitely be taking them when I need to 😊

I’m on regular paracetamol for about 5 weeks now post a car crash. All good x

sore to hear about your car accident, hope you're on the mend xx

I was really worried about taking paracetamol and didn’t when I should have done. I made myself quite ill. The advice was that I was better off taking it and it was better in the long run as if I didn’t I could have put the baby at risk. Both the doctor and midwife said it was perfectly fine today. Good luck xx
