How to find time for anything?!!!!!

I have a 2 year old and desperately want to declutter the house. It just feels impossible to do with little one around and he’s always into something and is quite needy at the moment.

I feel like I ideally need a few days here and there to tackle the house but the only people who look after my son are me, my husband and my mum. My mum already has him three days a week while I’m at work so can’t ask her to look after him over the weekend too. My husband would take him out for the day but the weathers awful at the moment, plus the little ones favourite phrase at the moment is ‘don’t like daddy’ because he just wants to be with me all of the time.

I guess there’s no real point to this, I just needed to rant.

Omg I Know Exactly How You Feel! I Have a 3 Year Old and a 19 Month Old it’s just So Hard to get stuff done in the House. I Try to when They’re Napping but even then it’s not long enough to get what I Need Done 😰😩

I’m just gonna have to face the facts that My House will Forever be a Mess 🥲 x

I have been doing a room reset each Saturday when my husband takes our son out for 3-4h, all I really manage to get done is change curtains, clean skirting, sort and chuck stuff from the cupboards and draws and vacuum.

if I get 1h when he naps during the week that's for daily cleaning, no way I manage to get anything done..

Honestly could have written this myself! The other day I was moving out shelves from living room to hallway and my toddler pulled the shoe rack down and used it as a ladder to climb the baby gate.
I'm praying she can start nursery soon and then I'll have some time!

that’s a lot more than I manage to do. I’m not sure my husband would take our little one out for that long though.

Well done for cleaning during nap time! I’ll be honest, during nap time if I don’t have stuff to do for work then I sit and read 🤦🏻‍♀️

My partner was out at the time. I was home alone with 3 kids 👍 it took 4 hours to move shelves 5 feet. Screen time and some chocolate brought me about 10 mins.
I'm the same I need to chill out during nap time! Toddlers are hard work!!

Feel you!
I wfh 2-5 days sometimes more (freelance so varies).
Being at home is a blessing & curse… I see all the chaos (which drives me mad but enables me to do bits here & there) plus trying to work in amidst the mayhem is really hard sometimes but I do get to run around like a crazy woman staying/ trying to stay on top of it constantly- I probably have OCD but I find if I let go it’s a bomb site within 2 days… i hoover, sweep n do surfaces around my toddler otherwise when will it get done, put washes on n out to dry, take her in garden to play while I rake leaves etc. she has actually started to try help me with things bless her.
She’s in nursery 2 days.
Partner works shifts so partner & my mum help other days. But partner barely does anything at moment, he’s wrapped up in side hustle & long hours day job.
I wish i could hire a cleaner!
Having a dog too that adds to it all…
Im mopping floors at midnight sometimes thinking wtf is life 🤣 adulting is hard.

And p.s i don’t feel bad about screen time anymore it is a necessary evil. Or I give her crayons n paints n cover our dining table with splash mat & strap her into high chair & sit her there so i can buy myself some time.
Also I use the bring app for shopping n share with partner so he knows what we need & i update as I remember stuff, i have also started using a meal plan app too.
Ppl don’t get the domestic duties equate to a job within itself, throw in kids n pets, even without a paid job its an insane mental load/ juggling act.

that must have been so stressful. They are a handful aren’t they!

i took sides off my Lo cot yesterday n re-assembled toddler bed & put up baby gate to her room I had no choice but to involve her in the process as it was just all on me. Ofcourse she was jumping on a half assembled bed n trying to eat screws! It is huge challenge to get stuff done & make sure they don’t kill themselves 🤣

See I definitely have OCD 🤣 unless I am ill or physically can’t stay awake I either work, clean, plan or tidy! I wish I could chill out… I need to! But naps are dwindling due to her age so I go for it while I still have that time left!
