I had a glucose drink test at 32 weeks (was negative) however ive now had glucose in my urine twice so im having to test my blood 4 times a day for 6 days at home (36 weeks pregnant) it says 3+ high readings would mean a diagnosis, but what does that actually mean?? Medication or just testing my blood until the end of pregnancy?? And once baby is here does it go away??

If you have 3 or more high readings they may consider medication but If you can keep it diet controlled you won’t have to do medication. Once baby is here you will need to test for 2 days after then every year around due date of baby. It should clear itself up, May be slightly different for you but this is what I have to do as I have GD which I’m controlling with diet x

I had to do the same thing after my 36 week scan as the baby was measuring rather large. I had 4 high readings out of the 6 days so they’ve diagnosed me with GD. Mine is diet controlled and I have to carry on testing 4 times a day until I give birth, and then everything like explained.
I’m booked in to see the consultant on Thursday to discuss my induction (not for GD) and then seeing the diabetic nurse afterwards.

It usually goes away after you give birth yes but that’s not the case for everyone. You won’t have to go on any medication if you can stay diet controlled and if baby isn’t measuring big then they will still let you go to full term

I've been testing my blood sugars 3/4 times a day since I was 11 weeks! I've not been put on medication and I had maybe 3 occasions where I had 3 or more high readings within a week. I just rang the diabetic midwives and they talked me through why it could've been high (certain foods I've eaten etc.) and then just discuss dietary changes
