40 week appt
Just had my 38 week appointment with my midwife at 38+5 she asked if I wanted my next appt at Tameside acorn birthing unit with a midwife that will do aromatherapy massage as part of my appointment, she also mentioned I could have a sweep at this appointment if I wanted, just wanted some personal experiences if anyone has had an appointment like this, what to expect from the massage, if you had a sweep how it went and how uncomfortable it is?

I certainly never had a massage at any appointment 😂
I have had a sweep though, they're exactly as they sound, they take a generous sweep of your cervix so depending on how far along you are it may be quite high still.
They're uncomfortable to say the least but it worked to get me into labour with my first 😊
It’s a lady called Jackie who does the massages usually. She’s lovely & can answer any questions you have about birth/baby/labour etc. I didn’t have the massage myself, just 2 sweeps. I’d say with the sweeps it depends on your cervix as my first 2 were failed sweeps as my cervix was too high & I found them quite painful. I then had another sweep later on in hospital & that was fine, only slightly uncomfortable ☺️ x
