Nappy bin

Ok so just wondering what people’s views are on nappy bins…necessary or not? This is going to be my first baby, so not a clue and trying to work out what essentials I need to buy.

Personally waste of money. The tommee tippee one the bin bags are super expensive and we just found it easier to put in a nappy sack and in the normal bin - poops we just put straight outside in the bin. Never had any smells and you’d forever be moving the bin to whatever room your in etc

Waste of money

Thanks guys, it’s what I suspected but wasn’t sure if I was just being naive

We’ve got one that we’ve used for 19 months now.. and will use when our second baby arrives. I personally think they are great as our county does nappy recycling so it’s a good way of keeping them together and being able to empty them into one bag whilst keeping smell at bay. The refills can be expensive but Amazon subscribe and save have great deals. We got ours for like £15 from Asda before my first born was born so I rate it

Personally think they are a waste of money when you can use a normal bin but that’s only my opinion x

I got mine as well and I think it’s fine and easy especially when you don’t have to get up and throw the nappy outside at night. You can move the bin anywhere bedroom baby room etc

My first time too but we've gone for 2 nappy bins that take normal bin liners, not cassettes. Found a Chicco one in perfect condition on Marketplace (£15, £56 new), a different one is on our registry. If we don't use it much in the end, hardly any money wasted 😊

I wouldn’t personally buy one as the inserts are expensive however we got the tommee tippee one for free on the Amazon baby wish list so will use it during the night if there had been a poonami to avoid going out to the bin in the dark and cold 😂💙

Personally think they’re a waste of money. My partner has 2 children, and he’s always just taken nappies straight to the outside bin. Ive been in their lives since youngest was 1, and for me, I’d rather they were just taken straight out in a nappy sack!

Pointless but each to their own I think. We had one with our first and it just created an extra thing to deal with. Id advise just to use nappy bags and put in normal bin, then it doesn’t smell. For the night time you can just pile them into a large plastic bag then throw that in the morning 🙂

I got one with the tommee tippee twist one for my first born. Has been incredibly useful as our main bins are so small and these contain most of the smell. If you buy refilled rather than cases it’s much much cheaper

I thought the same so went on Facebook market place and got a tommee tippee one for a fiver! It’s worth looking on there because you’ve got it just in case but if you don’t use it, it’s not too much of a waste of money x
