First time csection

I'm having my first baby this week via csection because baby is breech and refuses to flip head down😭 at first I felt okay about everything but now I'm starting to get really nervous. Any advice or tips? I would really appreciate as much real life knowledge as I can get

I am schedule for my c-section too and for me it was a personal choice. I don't know if this helps you, but I am married to a doctor and in my view, the OBGYN + anesthesiologist + delivery nurses have been doing this every single day and are trained professionals... Me? First time mom. This whole "magic" around what our bodies are capable to do and how "natural" a vaginal birth is just adds an unbelievable guilt to child birth. Added to that... vaginal births can have complications too, vaginals tears, sexual issues after birth, strangulation by umbilical cord, bruises, trauma... So I tell you to take a biiiig breath and trust that you will be cared for. You can still can hold your little baba right after birth and make decisions about baths, golden hour, feeds and whatever you want. A C-section is just a calmer way to come to the world, and your body will heal ✨️ Let me know if you want to talk ok?

Take big comfy underwear, disposable underwear, maternity pads. Alot of people forget these with a csection but bleeding still happens! Ask a nurse to take your phone during the section so you can still get lots of photos. Get your partner to take pics afterwards as you wont be able to move much. If you want a shower after get your partner to go in with you, i could hardly walk nevermind wash myself 😂 take things slow and steady, recovery takes a while with the csection, dont push yourself and dont be afraid to ask for help! Ive had 2 c sections now, one emergency and 1 elective.

I've had an emergency c section and planned c section. I found the planned c section so much more relaxing, easier recovery. I highly recommend asking what you should expect pressure wise, cause you do feel pressure but no pain it's such a different experience. It felt like forever for them to stich me up after baby was out

It was honestly the most amazing experience. And my recovery has been fantastic. I'm 2 weeks pp now and ever since day 3 I've been up and moving with very little pain relief. I've had a vaginal birth too and my c section was a million times better experience x

I’m feeling the same, really anxious and nervous so your not alone. Deep breaths and keep the faith. We’ve got this!! X

I had an emergency section 3 months ago & you would never even know I’d had one.

Keep on top of your pain meds, keep the area clean & dry and just take it easy. Don’t try to do too much too soon.

Good luck no need be nervous xx

High risk

I’m considered high risk because I was fully dilated when I had an emergency C-section with my first and there’s risks I could go into pre term labour so I have cervical length scans every 2 weeks between 16-22/24 and I’m aloud to try for a vbac if I go into spontaneous labour by 40 weeks but I’ll have a planned C-section booked for week 40 ( which I’m really hoping doesn’t happen )Just wondering if anyone else had similar experiences I’m just very overwhelmed and hoping people have maybe had a good successful full term pregnancy & birth despite what IVE previously mentioned x

Middle name

We are fairly convinced we’ve decided on baby girls first name - Josephine (Josie) - but struggling for a middle name.

We’ve already got a boy Oziah (Ozzy) Sampson, and a girl Cassandra (Cassie) Evangeline. Last name beginning with E

Also open to other options all together as backups 😅

12 week blood test

Hi, I had the blood test at 12 weeks to check for ds and it’s being over 2 weeks now and I haven’t had a letter or a call saying the results, now I guess I will take that as good news but part of me not knowing still wants to chase🤣 does anyone know if I contacted my midwife she would be able to access if they have come back? Or should I just wait until my 16 week appointment to see🫣

Help! Share your thoughts

Hello ladies 🤍

At my 20-week anatomy scan, everything was normal and my baby’s femur length was around the 75th percentile.

Now at 35 weeks, the femur length measured 6.34 cm and dropped to the 3rd percentile (about 2.5 weeks behind). I’m honestly feeling really anxious about it.

My doctor reassured me that everything else looks normal — head and abdominal measurements are on track, and the overall proportions (including abdomen-to-leg ratio) look normal too. They said it’s likely just that the baby has shorter legs and nothing concerning.

Still, I can’t help but worry 🥺 Has anyone experienced something similar? I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences.

Thank you so much 🤍
