Scales rant

Stepped on the scales for the first time in 4 months since having my LO and omg 3 stone heavier and I’m so upset by it. I can’t do eating though- bf and always hungry but not enough time to make anything healthy. I’ve been so down since looking at that number. Yes my lo is the best thing that has ever happened but 3 stone is crazy 😩 I’ve started going to the gym (baby friendly) but I’m so impatient and want the weight to go asap. Any recommendations on some fat burning smoothies or any tips, reassurance, advice all welcome!

It's tricky when breastfeeding as we can retain fat in case of famine 🤦. Some women shed weight while breastfeeding, some maintain their weight and others like you gain. It's so hard as you don't want to do too much of a deficit and start to lessen your supply as well. I'd throw that scale out and work on what makes you feel best. If going to the gym boosts your energy that's fantastic and a much better indicator than any scale. You got this!

Batch cooking is the best trick if you can. Makes you eat healthier on budget and aligned with what you like eating.
We normally roast or steam more veggies to make soups or side dishes. I don’t spend more than 3hours per week doing that and it saves us time when putting lunch or dinner together. It takes a bit of will power at first but if you share the load with partner it’s not that bad. If you have a pressure cooker and a blender that can make things even easier and you can make home made desserts and dips which can help in your weight loss since you can find recipes that are healthier than store bought

Keep in mind when joining the gym, you gain muscle weight!! Its not just all "extra" weight, but muscle mass :)

Has your life become a living nightmare since becoming a mom?

Sometimes I become conscious of the fact that I just have to wake up tomorrow morning and do this all over again. Every day. And then I wanna bash my head into a brick wall

Overwhelmed!

I’m due in June with my first baby, we started saving money before I found out I was pregnant and have continued to save money however, as we’ve needed to buy lots of baby stuff, decorate her room etc, we’ve not been saving no where near as much so obviously our total amount of savings hasn’t been going up as much as we like.

We’ve just had our renewal for some bills like council tax (which has gone up) etc. I just feel really deflated and thinking how on earth are we going to survive when I’m on maternity pay 😕

I know everything will be okay but it’s just really got to me today.

Did anyone else feel like this? Was there any help or things you did to make it easier?

Baby boy is officially here 💖

Born yesterday at 39 weeks. A very fast labour. Woke up at 2.30am on the 16th to my waters leaking, contractions didn’t start till 4am and then I was 2cm dilated, at 10am my contractions were strong enough where I couldn’t talk but was only 3cm so had a sweep and was admitted into the birthing centre. By 3pm baby boy was born in the pool 💖 had a bad 2 degree internal tear but I’m so so happy I can stop looking at him

39 Week Induction Being Pushed On

Went to my 36 week appointment today and my OB was pushing for a 39 week induction.

I want a natural spontaneous labor but my OB kept pushing for the induction even if I’m low risk and healthy. Is anyone else experiencing this?
