Does anyone have any ways of relieving severe back/hip pain from having an anterior placenta 😫some days I’m okay other days I’m hobbling round like an old lady and I’m only 18 weeks 😫

Is back pain related to your placenta? I have an anterior placenta and my back is sooo bad! I’m 20 weeks and feel the same!

the lady that did my scan said it’s why I’m getting so much bad pain because essentially we don’t have as much padding as we do it the front of our belly’s so the baby’s more laying on my back than round the front of me 😫it was okay for a few weeks but it’s really starting to bother me I keep saying to my partner my backs hurting that much my legs aren’t working when I walk šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

Could get a belly band, get a massage, heard good things about chiropractors. I don’t have an anterior one but my back is bad from the sheer size of boobs and have been laying on a lumbar pillow.

ooo the pillow looks good I’ve tried standing under a hot shower on all fours in the shower with the water on my back šŸ˜‚šŸ˜my partner tries to massage my back I do have a pregnancy pillow I find it helps me sleep but doesn’t do anything for my back lol

Oh I didn’t this was the cause of my hip pain! I also have an anterior placenta and my hips have been killing me, especially on my right side. Thanks for sharing! Sorry you’re going through that, hope some of these suggestions can help.

I’ve just had my 20 week scan today (been pregnant before with my daughter) and already had a feeling the placenta was anterior as movements etc feel different. Anyway today it was confirmed I do have an anterior! I had back ache etc with my last pregnancy but this is something else! And the pain down my right leg 🄺 so this explains alot and from the comments we all seem to be the same! Xx

it is the worst and for people that don’t have it or have never had it seem to think I’m being dramatic 😫 I found laying in a warm bath for half hour has helped me tonight but doesn’t always work !

Avatar

yeah it’s sore all right. As I say I thought it was bad in my first which was a posterior but anterior is way worse! And at 20 +2 I dread to think how much worse it will get. Only just got over the sickness and moving on to something else. I know it will be worth it but wow right now! I’ll need to try a bath! I tend to just go for showers as I can’t get comfy in the bath but maybe the heat will help more! We will have to all keep each other posted on if we find anything that helps… even if just a little! Xxx

I’m nearly 20 weeks an my back an hips av been painful this last week I’m findin it more uncomfortable that ever

Avatar

same! I’m 21 weeks on Saturday. I’ve had a super busy week at work (short staffed so not helped) but I’m really feeling it this week! Xxx

Avatar

oh god. Iv not been to bad just these last few days it’s been painful my placenta is at the back xxx

Avatar

hopefully you don’t get too busy! I had it with my first but nothing like this. But I had a posterior the first time. And this time it’s anterior which I read can be more strain on your back as there’s no cushion between baby and your back. It will all be worth it for us… that’s what I keep telling myself! Was with my daughter and this pregnancy hasn’t been the most straightforward and emotionally a lot has gone on so I just keep being grateful! Xx

Avatar

it will be worth it in the end that’s what I keep tellin myself don’t remember bein this bad with my daughters xx

Avatar

yes it will, I had my 20 week scan this week and my placenta is currently covering my cervix slightly too so need another scan at 32 weeks. If it’s not moved I’ve got to have a section. I really hope it moves and keeping everything crossed šŸ¤žšŸ¼šŸ¤žšŸ¼šŸ¤žšŸ¼

hopefully it will move for ya šŸ¤žšŸ¤ž

High risk

I’m considered high risk because I was fully dilated when I had an emergency C-section with my first and there’s risks I could go into pre term labour so I have cervical length scans every 2 weeks between 16-22/24 and I’m aloud to try for a vbac if I go into spontaneous labour by 40 weeks but I’ll have a planned C-section booked for week 40 ( which I’m really hoping doesn’t happen )Just wondering if anyone else had similar experiences I’m just very overwhelmed and hoping people have maybe had a good successful full term pregnancy & birth despite what IVE previously mentioned x

Anyone had a growth scan around these dates?

I’ve got scans;
26+5
27+3
28+5

And just wondering what everyone’s babies weighed on/around these dates ? (And what centiles)

My oldest has a scan at 27+6 so I know roughly with that but interested to know how much growth tends to happen in such a short period ?

Middle name

We are fairly convinced we’ve decided on baby girls first name - Josephine (Josie) - but struggling for a middle name.

We’ve already got a boy Oziah (Ozzy) Sampson, and a girl Cassandra (Cassie) Evangeline. Last name beginning with E

Also open to other options all together as backups šŸ˜…

12 week blood test

Hi, I had the blood test at 12 weeks to check for ds and it’s being over 2 weeks now and I haven’t had a letter or a call saying the results, now I guess I will take that as good news but part of me not knowing still wants to chase🤣 does anyone know if I contacted my midwife she would be able to access if they have come back? Or should I just wait until my 16 week appointment to see🫣
