Is back pain related to your placenta? I have an anterior placenta and my back is sooo bad! Iām 20 weeks and feel the same!

the lady that did my scan said itās why Iām getting so much bad pain because essentially we donāt have as much padding as we do it the front of our bellyās so the babyās more laying on my back than round the front of me š«it was okay for a few weeks but itās really starting to bother me I keep saying to my partner my backs hurting that much my legs arenāt working when I walk š¤¦š¼āāļø

Could get a belly band, get a massage, heard good things about chiropractors. I donāt have an anterior one but my back is bad from the sheer size of boobs and have been laying on a lumbar pillow.

ooo the pillow looks good Iāve tried standing under a hot shower on all fours in the shower with the water on my back ššmy partner tries to massage my back I do have a pregnancy pillow I find it helps me sleep but doesnāt do anything for my back lol

I'm 18 weeks with anterior placenta and the same in my tail bone it's awful!!x

Oh I didnāt this was the cause of my hip pain! I also have an anterior placenta and my hips have been killing me, especially on my right side. Thanks for sharing! Sorry youāre going through that, hope some of these suggestions can help.

Iāve just had my 20 week scan today (been pregnant before with my daughter) and already had a feeling the placenta was anterior as movements etc feel different. Anyway today it was confirmed I do have an anterior! I had back ache etc with my last pregnancy but this is something else! And the pain down my right leg š„ŗ so this explains alot and from the comments we all seem to be the same! Xx

it is the worst and for people that donāt have it or have never had it seem to think Iām being dramatic š« I found laying in a warm bath for half hour has helped me tonight but doesnāt always work !

yeah itās sore all right. As I say I thought it was bad in my first which was a posterior but anterior is way worse! And at 20 +2 I dread to think how much worse it will get. Only just got over the sickness and moving on to something else. I know it will be worth it but wow right now! Iāll need to try a bath! I tend to just go for showers as I canāt get comfy in the bath but maybe the heat will help more! We will have to all keep each other posted on if we find anything that helps⦠even if just a little! Xxx

Iām nearly 20 weeks an my back an hips av been painful this last week Iām findin it more uncomfortable that ever

same! Iām 21 weeks on Saturday. Iāve had a super busy week at work (short staffed so not helped) but Iām really feeling it this week! Xxx

oh god. Iv not been to bad just these last few days itās been painful my placenta is at the back xxx

hopefully you donāt get too busy! I had it with my first but nothing like this. But I had a posterior the first time. And this time itās anterior which I read can be more strain on your back as thereās no cushion between baby and your back. It will all be worth it for us⦠thatās what I keep telling myself! Was with my daughter and this pregnancy hasnāt been the most straightforward and emotionally a lot has gone on so I just keep being grateful! Xx

it will be worth it in the end thatās what I keep tellin myself donāt remember bein this bad with my daughters xx

yes it will, I had my 20 week scan this week and my placenta is currently covering my cervix slightly too so need another scan at 32 weeks. If itās not moved Iāve got to have a section. I really hope it moves and keeping everything crossed š¤š¼š¤š¼š¤š¼

hopefully it will move for ya š¤š¤
