Hello, everyone. My little just turned 7 mos and she’s experiencing some difficulty in sleeping and when she finally sleeps, she will sleep on her tummy and face down. Is this alright? I’m just worried that she might suffocate herself. I’m constantly checking her during the night and when I can’t take it, I roll her to sleep on her back but again she will do the same thing.

My daughter is 7 months and she will only sleep on her stomach - has been for months. As long as she can roll over herself and move her head I would let her be comfortable. If there’s nothing in the cot then she will be fine :) mine will turn her head from one side to the other and I’ve never seen her put her face down into the mattress :)

Mine only can sleep on her tummy since 1 month old she always turns her head to the side but I was so worried until she was able to roll over at 3 month, luckily nothing bad happened 😐

If you can see an ear at a minimum of a 45° angle to the ceiling she's safe with breathing as it gives her room to breathe safely 90° is preferred From what I've been told as it means the face is completely free from obstruction but 45 is the minimum. As others have stated if she can roll freely in and out of the position she will be fine to sleep this way xx
Thank you! This gives me peace of mind :)
Thank you! That would have been really scary for me. Thank God you have passed that stage.
Thank you! I will look out for the angle then. I think this is how she’s sleeping now. Tonight is the 2nd night. She was on her back when she took a nap earlier.
