Not sleeping during the day

Hi ladies I’m really struggling with my 16 week old baby. She doesn’t take naps during the day anymore. She’ll wake up at 7am and be up till about 6pm. I haven’t changed anything and I’m following her sleeping cues. She’s breastfed & I feed on demand. Please help me

Is she happy and content during the day or is she fussy and tired?

Do you help her nap? Dark room, sound machine, etc?

yes shes always playing happy. But gets tired and then I swaddle her get her ready for bed once I put her down she’s up and becomes supper irritable. It’s so bad. I have a sound machine. I close the blinds but obviously it’s not super super dark like night time ☹️

Yeah, she’s probably overtired at that point. Have you tried baby wearing or seeing if she’ll nap in a stroller?

Avatar

yes she naps in the stroller we get home and she wakes up almost as if she knows she’s not outside. Or in the car too. She starts getting irritated when I baby wear her

One thought - at 16 weeks she may be ready to transition from the saddle. We transitioned our girl early early because she hated it and not having her hands free to chew on

we’ve tried she doesn’t sleep 😭😭😭😭 I’m struggling but will try again

A lot of babies only prefer contact naps at that age so if it’s possible see if she’ll sleep on you but not in a carrier. Also awake windows really are true - do you try putting her down after 1.5-2 hours awake?

You may have to start incorporating nap walks just to help her get some sleep until she starts tolerating other naps better?

Health Visitor Home Visit

Hii, could anyone explain what the health visitor does on their home visit?

Also if anyone had a home birth, what the midwife home risk assessment involves?

I’ve got 3 home visits coming up in the next two weeks (health visitor, midwives and doula) and it’s making me nervous for some reason. I think having 3 just feels like a lot and a bit invasive if that makes sense!

Did you know this was a thing?

Didn’t know this existed! I’m actually not breastfeeding 2nd time round (though wish I did) after a bad experience with my 1st baby. But this is something I 100% needed 1st time round.

Screeching baby

I have twin boys, 5months.

One is very quiet

The other... is like a pterodactyl who screeches when bored, tired, hungry, as soon as he wake up to be held etc...
This habit has only just started!

Has anyone else experienced this and how long did it last?
So far it has been about 5 days 😭😭😭😭

Fighting naps

Does anybody else feel like they spend all day trying to get baby to nap? I get tempted to give up as he must not be that tired but he is too cranky to play or do anything else!

Joie Signature Parcel LX lightweight stroller

Has anyone got this stroller? Up until now we have used our mamas and papas ocarro and we love it. However we are going on holiday in June and looking at a lightweight stroller to take with us. I'm not bothered if it fits in overheard locker, I would rather have decent wheels on the stroller and this one does have slightly bigger wheels than most travel strollers we have seen. Has anyone used this stroller abroad or got any other recommendations? TIA x
