Hi guys,
Anyone else have the copper IUD Paraguard? I have PCOS so I opted for no hormones. I’m 8 weeks PP. I already had my first period about 2 weeks ago but I keep spotting and it’s so annoying! I have to wear a pad or panty liner like every other day because of it. Has anyone else experienced this and how long did it last?

Keep a record of it and make a drs appointment. I had bleeding that got heavy and turned out that my iud migrated out of my uterus into my abdomen. It caused a lot of pain and I had to have it surgically removed

I had the copper IUD after my last pregnancy. I experienced the same thing. Couldn't tell a lot of the time if it was a light period or spotting. I tried the IUD for over a year and it was making my period worse pain wise. I eventually got it removed and haven't had any of those symptoms since. Could have been that i/you are only 8 weeks pp. Thinking as my body healed I had less spring but it was still painful and not a good fit. Was told spotting is normal. If it continues definitely would be worth getting checked out. They can shift and cause serious issues internally. Mine was fine and I was still spotting a decent amount. Mine lasted until u got it out but slowed a bit over time. Hope that helps!!

I opted for the pill injection ( one injection every 12 weeks protected straight away) after the first one or two your periods stop i cant say it would be the same for PCOS but ive heard so many horror stories about the coil

There are definitely a lot with horror stories. It's about finding the right one for you. Was on the patch most of my life, switched to the copper iud as I was on medication that made hormonal birth control barely work but my body hated it! In between that and new birth control a baby happened lol 😆 definitely worth giving a few a try to find the right fit but so hard to choose with so many horror stories out there!

I had the copper after my daughter’s birth almost 9 years ago I felt a lot of pain discomfort during sex and spotting. It just wasn’t worth it for me. Took me a while to conceive after removing it; I’m oncvinced it was put in wrong as I was fitted by junior student doctor and didn’t know till I walked into the app. Please listen to your Boyd and congrats on baby xx

I'd keep an eye out. I've had the paragard for two years no problems.
