At the end of day it is major surgery. I had one booked on the 10th of August and due to my dad passing away 8 days before and still being in the hospital I completely freaked out didn’t sleep the night before(not that I was sleeping particularly well anyway) I had the midwives, consultants all ringing me. Eventuallly I went and saw my midwife and just broke down

Totally normal to feel nerves. I was fine up until I got in the taxi on the day and then silently freaked out. Went into full bargaining mode.

Once I walked into theatre, a strange rush of calm came over me though and it was the most chill and happy experience.

All the best for tomorrow! x

Weirdly… even though mine was considered an emergency.. I still found it all so calm and a lovely experience. You’ll be fine 🥰

The good news is : an elective C-section is sometimes easier as everyone is ready and planned. To ease your mind - these occur every single day - MAJOR SURGERY no less - don’t get it twisted- but so common. Next, try to meditate , breathe, lean in to the surgery with positive thoughts. It’s completely valid to feel scared and nervous! But a positive mental game can go far. . You will be supported and tell people you are nervous and give that burden to someone else to carry that load.
The unknown can be scary but the outcome well … ❤️ think about that moment where baby is brought into the world. Focus on that if you can :)
Easier said than done!

Totally normal to feel that way!

And if you want to see more detailed photos of the surgery I’m happy to send you them. Our team took photos of everything but some times people aren’t as crazy as I am and don’t want to see it. I think it’s amazing.

It will honestly be way easier than labor. I hope you have a safe delivery

I had suchhhh a great experience! They played Jack Johnson which I picked- everyone was so nice.

I’m going to do the same thing for the next one.

I’m 37 weeks and I’m due on 6th April. I’m having an elective c section and haven’t been given my date yet, is anyone else in this situation? X

How many of you had your c sections rescheduled?

So I'm choosing to have a c section this time around because I had an emergency c section after being induced last time. That was less than 2 years ago so I don't think it's a good idea to try again. I'm really nervous it's gonna be rescheduled bcs I have my sister taking time off work to help me out with the baby in the hospital since my husband will have to go home to be with our toddler at night. Also my husband starts his leave on that day so I don't want him to lose any more days. So I'm just wondering how common this is. I'm in the US in NJ

Unwell after sweep

I’ve had a sweep earlier today, lost the mucus plug about a couple hours later. Got period type cramping immediately, I hadn’t even left the midwife appointment yet. I have contractions and permanent back cramping, alongside waves of nausea - which is a combination I’m struggling with as I feel quite unwell. Nowhere near labour, as I’ve had 6 contractions in the span of 3 hours or so. A midwife told me sweeps cause really bad cramping, so I assumed it was normal. But just want to check if there’s anybody out there in a similar boat? Should I be calling the hospital to check if it’s all normal?

39 Week Induction Being Pushed On

Went to my 36 week appointment today and my OB was pushing for a 39 week induction.

I want a natural spontaneous labor but my OB kept pushing for the induction even if I’m low risk and healthy. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Has your life become a living nightmare since becoming a mom?

Sometimes I become conscious of the fact that I just have to wake up tomorrow morning and do this all over again. Every day. And then I wanna bash my head into a brick wall
