My baby girl is 3 months old. I tried breastfeeding her for the first 2 months but due to a tongue tie it was a real struggle. Even after it was corrected, she never wanted to breastfeed so we switched exclusively to formula. My supply has since dried up. Yesterday morning she started going manic for my breast. Digging her head into my chest, grabbing and sucking on my shirt. So I offered a nipple and she sucked but nothing was coming out so she got super frustrated. She wouldn't take a bottle. Same thing happened again last night and again this morning.
Does anyone have experience with this? I don't know if she's going through a phase or if I should actively try to restart my milk production. It broke my heart to see her trying so hard but I know nothing is there for her

If you really want to restart breastfeeding you can. It's hard work but totally possible. It's called relactation and if you Google it you can find guides on how to do it. I think involves pumping to bring your supply back up and latching baby as well.

Thanks. I'll do some research.

Also you may be surprised. We don't typically dry up as quickly as we think we do. It's just not obviously the same amount as when actively feeding. A lactation consultant will be your greatest asset with this.
