Hi guys
My little one most likely has a cows milk allergy and I’ve started weaning her on pouches. I gave her porridge and I totally forgot the tin had milk in it so it gave her a rash but she’s better now that I’ve stopped using that.
Just wanted to ask what milk to make the porridge and if we’re allowed to use soya, oat or almond milk?
Sorry I’m a FTM so I’m unaware of things and still learning..
Thanks in advance x

You could use breast milk or formula.

Depending I wouldn't use soy as it can be very similar to milk protein. Easiest will be to use your formula

Use oat milk in porridge :)

Just use the formula or breast milk you usually feed her.

Some of the baby porridge’s are made with milk powder, I know for example that Kendamil’s ones are! Similar is baby rice I guess, which you can make with your breastmilk if you’re cutting out the dairy for that or your formula if that’s what you’re feeding!

Also as you're in a BLW group you can just use regular oats. It won't have as much iron fortified but then you know there isn't any milk added

You can use plant milks from 6m in food. We use oat milk as my daughter is also allergic to soy and oat is fortified with extra vitamins but it’s up to you which one you use as long as it isn’t rice milk. I just use regular oats like I would if I was making porridge for me 😊
Thanks everyone xxx really appreciate it x

My little one has cmpa, he’s 10 months now and slowly growing out of it but I always use oat milk x
