Missed miscarriage d&c and TTC afterwards

Hi, sadly just had my d&c after finding out about my MMC at my first 12 week scan. It’s my first pregnancy so was really heart broken. After the op, I was told that my blood type is rh negative so I had to have an injection (I was pretty out of it so I can’t fully remember what the gynaecologist told me about the blood type but I’ve done some Googling of course and it’s slightly worrying me for future pregnancies)

I just wanted to see if anyone had an similar stories about falling pregnant after a d&c and/or being rh negative?

Thank you all✨🌈

I had my D&C 3 weeks ago after a MMC at 12 week scan. It’s an awful time so heartbreaking thinking off you 💕 i had light bleeding for 17days after. I had a scan today as still testing positive all went well just a few blood clots left which they hope will go by themselves they’re going to repeat the scan in 2 weeks. Hoping to start trying again in the new year.
I don’t know the full details about the blood type but My friend has the same blood type and has 2 healthy boys their pregnancy’s were fine what they do is test babies blood type and according to results she’ll need injections at certain times when pregnant. She didn’t need these with her first 2 pregnancies but with her 3rd she’s currently having now she does.

Thank you for sharing your story and your friends!!🫶🏻

curious how far along you were when you had your d&e. I just had one at 17 weeks 3.5 weeks ago and I’m still waiting for my period to come (my hcg zero’d out a couple days ago finally).

Hello @Elise, do you remember how many days after your HCG dropped you got your period? Just underwent D&C last week n trying to set my expectations right.

my cycle after my 17 week d&e was off because I ended up having a small piece of retained placenta. So basically, I got a “period” back about 4 weeks after my d&e so only a couple of days after I posted here. But it was SUPER light and only lasted 2 days. I ended up going back in for a followup d&c a week later and my cycle came back 2 weeks after that (so all in was a super short, 23 day cycle). And that next cycle I got pregnant and now I’m 24 weeks!

@Elise so are you saying that even after you get your period, there's a chance that you'll have retained placenta? I didn't know that. How am I supposed to know everything is ok without a follow up appointment? My OB didn't tell anything about follow up appointment..
I was under the impression that if I get my period, it would mean nothing is retained and hence HCG drops and I get the period after and I can TTC.

No matter what you should have a follow up appt after a miscarriage. Generally it’s 2 weeks out from an early miscarriage such as yours where you have a d&c or opt to pass tissue naturally or via pills. For a d&e (second trimester), it’s common to have that follow up 4 weeks out. This is standard procedure. If your doctor didn’t schedule a followup, you need to advocate for that with them and honestly I’d consider looking for another doctor.

@Elise thank you for the advice. Let me call my hospital up and try and get a follow up appointment.

Scan needed at 33 weeks

Hi ladies! I just had a midwife appointment (I am 33+5)..the midwife was different to my usual midwife. She's requested I have a scan within 72 hours as she said baby is measuring a little small, however, she did say that it's likely nothing to worry about and it's probably just her measuring me a bit different to my usual midwife. Has anyone else had this? Am a bit worried although babys heartbeat and movements are completely fine.

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?
