Hey all, I wanted to make sure others have done their glucose screenings for gestational diabetes through a lifelabs? I have the script from my midwife but wasn’t sure if lifelabs does them. If so, any advise on what to expect? Thanks!

Hey! I have done mine through lifelabs. Not complicated. Just handover your req and they’ll give you the drink. Have that and you’ll be asked to stay at one place without walking around. And then at one hour mark, they’ll take your blood. And you can head back home.
I’d ask you to carry water for after the blood is drawn. The drink can give you sugar rush. Or even nausea or even a bit light headedness. But don’t drink in that one hour mark. And you are good 😊

Yes, I did the test at a life labs. You just have to drink a disgusting super sugary drink, wait an hour and then they take your blood.

Ok that’s good to know! So bring something to occupy my time for that one hour period I guess 😊

I second what said! Good experience at lifelabs

Also did at lifelabs and yes bring something to pass the time because if all you have to think about is the lovely juice time moves sllllllow😅

I made the mistake of going during my lunch break. I thought I could drink it and while I sit and wait the 1hr, I'll eat my lunch lol nope. They told me I'm not even allowed to chew gum. So I sat there hungry and just had to wait. And I started falling asleep and they said I can't do that either lol limited internet in the basement of the building I was in too. So definitely bring something to keep yourself busy and alert lol not food
