How old is your daughter? With my oldest 3 year old son I started teaching him early about having respect for himself & others. I told him when he has to fart, burp or it happens by itself he needs to say excuse me/pardon me & make sure to do it in private & not in the open public. I did explain to him it’s not good manners. As for myself I had to lead by example to show him how it’s done so he sees & understands why all together.

She is 3☺️. It’s not easy for me to teach her because her father teaches her it’s a joke or funny to be gross.

So then you need to talk to the father to have a better under & be on the same page with you. Like for him not to encourage her to think it’s okay or funny doing that & for him to set a better example for his daughter. It was like that at first with my son I. I used to joke around and just do it anytime until I realized it’s not nice at all or good manners. After that I decided to lead by example towards him and started correcting him and myself whenever farts/burps happened accidentally or not.

My daughter is nearly 4.. we have only taught her to always use manners and say either excuse me or pardon me afterwards. We haven’t taught her it’s gross ect as it’s a natural bodily function that sometimes can’t be helped! 🤷🏼‍♀️

True that’s what I understand. It’s natural it may happen but have manners I appreciate the advice mamas. And Lizz I definitely need a long sit down w her father. Another convo for another topic all together!

I think 3 is too young to teach table manners

Ella, we go to restaurant and family dinners and I want her to respect herself and others and be presentable. I know farting burping is natural but I would love to teach her etiquette so she’s presentable and respectful and not being gross. Any tips on how to achieve? Or just not age appropriate lesson is what I’m picking up.
