Preparing dogs for baby arrival

Hi incredible Mama’s & Dog Mama’s! I'm expecting my first baby in February. Any advice or resources to prepare my dogs for the baby. I have two black lab mixes, 11 (Jax) and 7 (Lola) years old. They are sweet dogs but they have not been around babies or newborns before. They also are used to sleeping in the bedroom and not having closed doors. Trying to decided good sleep arrangements and ensure everyone is happy & safe. They don’t jump and are gentle but some friends said “You never know” which makes me want to prepare my dogs more. I’ve played baby noises and cries and they don’t seem to react besides an initial head turn.

When bringing home the baby bring in the baby blanket that baby was using in the hospital and let them smell the blanket afterwards let them smell baby when they meet and make sure you still on love and spoil them still

great idea! Thank you! Just curious, where does your dog sleep? We have dog beds on a large ottoman at the foot of our bed. I've heard mixed things about if they should be in the bedroom, but both are older (& needs steps to get to the ottoman) so there isn't risk of them getting to the bassenet, but some friends have cautioned me. I'm just curious what others have done.
