I know generally Aldi is prob one of the cheapest if not the cheapest places to do food shops. But I do like Tesco stuff and with a clubcard it’s not so bad, plus they do Aldi match.
We currently do our food shop at Aldi (family of 3). But I would like to try out Tesco.
Is there anyone who’s done both and compared the prices roughly?

We’ve done a bit of every shop, I prefer Tesco for meats and fresh produce the prices are slightly higher or the same but they last longer. I have this list of what our weekly shop costs at each place (bare in mind we get different things weekly but our monthly budget stays the same, we also buy baby snacks and nappies from each place so that increases the cost a lot)
Ocado: £124
Aldi: £91
Tesco (with club card): £102
Asda: £113
Lidl: £98
Iceland: £87 (lots we were unable to buy though)
Morrisons: £124
Sainsbury’s: £138
We always buy 4 types of meat, lots of fruit and veg and we’re not big on freezer food. We do get lots of snacks too xx

Ocado is our go to for convenience and quality, they also have a great variety and M&S stock too. Some weeks are high but I did a full shop for under £90 too so it really depends on the week.

We love ocado and they were doing a 25% off your first shop and then loads of discounts for your first 5 shops after that their meat lasts forever and is similar prices to Aldi but higher quality so you use less of it and their veg lasts forever everywhere else weve tried potatoes from their mouldy within a week the ocado ones last us a full month before sprouting. We can usually do a monthly meat shop with them for £70 and then it's just veg and snacks and baby bits on top. this is also baring in mind I'm pregnant so eating everything in sight and my partner is a tradie so eats everything in sight

I find Tesco much the same price as Aldi. Depends what you buy though I suppose

We do abit of every shop, there’s only 2 of us at the moment eating the food and drinking the drinks but my parents for a family of 6 also do a variety , snacks in some shops, food drinks in others and it deffo works out better for what you need in different shops. Tescos and Aldi I go to and I feel like sometimes I even save more on Clubcard then Aldi.

We find Aldi veg lasts longer than Tesco, and you end up throwing out a lot more from Tesco so it cost us "more" by having to replace. We rarely save with the clubcard but since cost of living crisis, the aldi shop has shot up.

When I shop in aldi I then have to go to tesco to get everything else that they don't sell.. but if I go to tesco I get everything and I've found us slightly cheaper for me x
