No Family Doctor?

Omg thats also my situation. I recently moved from ontario and I don't have a BC services card yet so no one would take me in and all the midwife clinics put me on a wait list too. So i have been relying on google too. Sucks!

I've been here for 10 years ,even the doctor waitlist for Burnaby is 18 months. Not very helpful for pregnancy 😂 I was feeling super neglected because not many friends of mine have had children but I've just realized as long as I'm still pregnant and none of my tests have any red flags just crack on.

Just always remember Google isn't a bad midwife, she's just a little dramatic sometimes.

I have been willing to pay for everything from my pocket yet no luck but if you could share some more information about how this telehealth thing works because i am suppose to get my anatomy scan and i need a requisition for that since I don't have a doctor i have been out of luck -.-

really? Did it ask any details for MSP? Would i be able to book even if I didn't have one?

you can do any telehealth in BC. I used Kensington, you just make a telehealth appointment. You can get a time and date from the doctors available. I'm not sure if they will charge because of the lack of PHN number but it was super easy to get my requisitions! They just rush the call like it's a conveyor belt. It's just needed the extra support I struggle to get help with.

I live in Nova Scotia 🇨🇦 and our Dr situation is horrible ! We have been on a Dr wait list for years ! And my husband is a type 1 diabetic !
I'm 11 weeks and still havnt seen a Dr! It's ridiculous 😒

Are you able to go to a walk in and ask them to refer you to someone ASAP that doesn’t have a long wait list?? Maybe that could speed up the process ?

I haven’t had a family doctor since my first pregnancy, I’m now pregnant again doing the exact same thing… going to walk in, getting a requisition, getting first US/BW at a Lifelab and getting referred to a OB. Good luck hopefully they squeeze you in soon. Xo
