Car Seat Insert

Wondering if someone can help me!

Bought baby boys pram off a friend and unsure if this is newborn safe or not! I’ve tried googling, researching and asking people and it’s all telling me different things 😭

Does it have the new born baby car seat insert or do I need to buy one?

Please help!

I would join the Facebook group Car Seat Safety UK and post this there - the admins are specialist car seat retailers so they’d be best placed to advise you 😊

just requested! Thank you 😌

i have been told this group is rather toxic and they refuse to give advice or be rude if you get a car seat from other retailers (not from admins of the group). I have been told Extended Rear Facing (something like that group is more friendly). I don't know as we have not got a car yet. Hopefully my husband will pass his test soon and we will get a car swat, but I won't be joining this group for that reason.

OP, I am sure you will have the feel of the group when you join, but basically it is not recommended to get a 2nd hand car seat as you don't know the history of it (whether been in accidents). Also all car seats have expiry dates.

Yeah that is the correct newborn insert in it already lovely, x

yes 100% I have a joie I spin and happy as anything and they always want you to swap to one of their seats, of course they will push those as they are running businesses but they claim they don’t they only push the safest. But I don’t believe it lol. I’m happy with my seat, it’s a really safe seat and my daughter is comfy safe and rear facing . X

some of the admins can be a little short with people at times but I wouldn’t say it’s toxic. They give really good advice for free so overall I’d say it’s useful. They won’t give support with specialist ERF seats if not bought from admins but they will advise on all infant carriers, which is what this one is.
Also it’s ok to have a secondhand seat if it’s from a trusted friend or relative and you know it hasn’t been in any accidents. You just wouldn’t want to buy one off Facebook Marketplace or something!

Just checked and yes, the bottom is wedged and you can take out the grey part! So, must be the new born insert 😌 Thank you!!

thank you! Just want to make sure 🥹 x

admins recommend the Joie seats regularly despite not selling them themselves, I can only imagine that they thought from your fit check that your baby didn’t have a safe fit in yours. There is one admin I think is rude at times, possibly you had the bad luck to catch her, but nevertheless her advice is usually spot on. And as for them “pushing the massive brands”, Joie is a much bigger brand than Axkid and Avionaut!

Can also back up that the car safety uk group are toxic, clearly have certain affiliations with shops & people who they ‘recommend’ you buying from and in my opinion are overall biased. I inboxed one lady to ask about a specific seat regarding my partners 3 door car and I was told (after waiting a week n a half for a response) to ‘ignore the car manual this seat isn’t recommended and buy an ERF seat instead’ which is all well n good in theory but not everyone has £500+ to spend. I then made a comment on another post as someone was trying to get in contact with the same lady ‘goodluck getting through it took them a while to message me back’ and I was met with a lot of horrible comments from other admins that ‘they have a life too’ etc and then resulted in me being blocked from the group🤣

I just couldn’t believe she told me not to listen to the instruction manual that came with the car considering that the 3 door and the back seat lay out is really cramped, doesn’t have a middle seat and isn’t compatible with certain seats, and isn’t compatible with the the car model 😭🤣

you can buy ERF seats for well under £500 😊

I have this exact car seat. That is already set up for new born stage xx

Post partum dad

I have a 2 month old. A few weeks ago my husband crashed out because he didn't feel like he was getting to bond with her. I started exclusively breastfeeding around that time and honestly didnt see the big deal. Baby and I left for a few days and when we got back home, everything was fine. He was extremely hands-on. He helped with my meals, her bedtime, bath, stories.....for a few weeks it was great. Then he randomly sounds depressed af. He says our lo is better off without him, he wants to sleep all day , he asks me not to watch tv then tried playing a video game. He refused to reply to me when i asked any follow-up questions. Then he woke up our baby trying to race me to the bathroom first thing in the morning . He's doing a weird mix of crying, trying, and giving up. Im starting to feel like I cant handle him not being able to handle life with baby and just want to be alone. Are there resources for men?

My friend is over from another country but I don't feel like leaving the house

One of my old friend's is visiting where I currently live and we agreed to meet up today but I feel so tired and exhausted from everything that's been going on with me. I feel if I meet her I'm going to end up having another breakdown from the exhaustion which I have been having often. I'm just thinking about how I need to rest to be able to deal with my toddler and go back to work on Monday without feeling like I need another weekend. I'm torn on what to do so I need you guys to help me decide

Weaning

Hello mamas, could I get some advice please with how and what to wean as started this week with my baby but not really what to give and when what time day. Have started with puree vegetables and making them myself and offering it in the evening to my baby but she tends to get irritated and tired and has a few spoonfulls and then gives up and has a meltdown. So I’m questioning myself am I feeding her wrong time of day and what’s best to mix the food with milk or baby rice please.

Do I need to pay anything when my child starts school in September

I'm a new mum and obviously didn't grow up in the uk. I currently pay roughly £640 for nursery fees. I'm wondering if my expenses will reduce when my LO starts school or there'll be other expenses (besides bags, uniform etc) will my expenses be anywhere close to £600 monthly?

People telling you your baby is hungry..

I know people don’t always mean it in a bad way and are trying to relate, but when people say my baby is hungry when chewing his hands. I feed him regularly. He eats pretty much every 2 hours. He isn’t hungry, he just loves chewing and exploring his hands. Or they say something about teething, which it is also not, as he isn’t unsettled with it. I have looked into it myself and can be common and neither of those things! He has done it most of the day since 2 months old.
