Congested

Hello, my baby is seriously congested to the point he’s waking up gagging/not breathing in the night. How would you sleep with your baby if this was happening? I’m worried sick to sleep, it’s causing me to get poorly

What are you using for the congestion? My LO was congested from birth to about 9 weeks as he was c section and we used to fly out of bed when we heard him gagging 😢 it’s horrible, so I feel you. We used saline nose spray and drops before bed to help move it and we do this any time we hear he is a bit stuffy. Highly recommended the Calpol plug in if baby is over 3 months and also Snuffle Babe drops in hot water in the room, a few drops on a nearby muslin or we attached a bib to the end of the next to me crib (foot end) with some drops on to waft over him. We also tried to not have the room too hot and dry.

My daughter had a cold a few weeks ago and we used a snot sucker, snuffle babe on her chest and the calpol plug in in the bedroom and it seemed to help massively xxx

When my LO was congested during her recent cold, I slept with her on me. I know you shouldn't do it, but it was the only way either rof us got any sleep. Obviously mine wasn't as deep as hers, but we got through it. I put her on her side with her head on my chest and legs/bum in my lap. It worked well for a couple of nights whilst the worst of it passed. Hope you find a solution soon! Xxx

Health Visitor Home Visit

Hii, could anyone explain what the health visitor does on their home visit?

Also if anyone had a home birth, what the midwife home risk assessment involves?

I’ve got 3 home visits coming up in the next two weeks (health visitor, midwives and doula) and it’s making me nervous for some reason. I think having 3 just feels like a lot and a bit invasive if that makes sense!

Did you know this was a thing?

Didn’t know this existed! I’m actually not breastfeeding 2nd time round (though wish I did) after a bad experience with my 1st baby. But this is something I 100% needed 1st time round.

Fighting naps

Does anybody else feel like they spend all day trying to get baby to nap? I get tempted to give up as he must not be that tired but he is too cranky to play or do anything else!

How are we entertaining our babies

What toys does everyone have for their 7 month old?
Nothing is satisfying my little girl she's got blocks, rattles, playmats loads more. She would much rather hold my hands and walk all day but I cant physically do that and whenever I put her down to play she just wont, is this just a faze?

Any experience with different teats?

Hey Mamas

So my little girl is exclusively breastfed but she wont even take FRESHLY PUMP milk from the bottle. I had a whole 4oz that was going to waste and baby girl was just massanging her gums and smiling lol :/
Ive tried adding extra holes with a needle, the ol' switcheroo (BF first then switch ti bottle) but she's very keen and notices straight away.
Im currently using Nuby and Tommee silicone bottles, and I would like to try more softer, boob-like teats.

Id ideally like her to take a bottle so Dad can give me a REAL break yknow.

Has anyone had this same experience? Any teats one would recommend?
Thank you in advance!
