I want to meet up with an ex need advice ?

What should I reply to convince him to meet? I'm (30f) and plan to meet up w/my ex bf (30m) of 6yrs ago.

So we spoke on a night he was drunk and he admitted he wants to hang out and that he misses me. I reached out to him a few months after to hang out.
His first response stated "I believe it'd be best if we kept our distance and just be cordial to each other" and I responded "I'm not going to hide it, I do miss you and I'd like to see you"(me having balls to admit how I feel)

His last response was the following:

"I understand but we haven’t had a real conversation in years. We both aren’t who we use to be, at least I’m not. I feel like we would be forcing learning about each other again. It will be a long while till I have time to hang out"

I feel like if he wasn't interested he wouldn't keep responding. So I'm remaining hopeful that his response is better than no response.
-However I now need help to find the words to reply to his last message. Help me out please (no negativity)--we were on and off for 10yrs if that helps. (Disconnected due to his career change and move out of state)
What should I reply to convince him to meet?

I know it sucks but I think you should let it go. For all you know, he could be seeing someone. Or maybe he's seen a therapist who has advised against it. He could be going through some hard stuff in his life and now is not the time to reconnect with an ex (especially one who was on and off for ten years - showing it was an unhealthy relationship at least to some degree). I'm not saying there is anything wrong with you or that your feelings aren't valid but you don't know anything about him anymore and maybe it's for the best.... and he's already told you he thinks it's for the best.... not to meet up.

Maybe a compromise is to ask if he minds you telling him how you're feeling just so you can get it off your chest but will no obligation or expectation to reply a certain way or even at all. But in that case, you also have to be willing to accept no response

Let him go , stop thinking or try to give him another chance cause you will just confusing him aswell, he was clearly honest and nice for you to understand that is not into you!
So my advice for you is to move on and stop thinking in the past! One day you will regrt that You waist some beautiful years of you for this man who doesn’t deserve and need your time!

Why do you need a friend on someone that before used to be your boyfriend or whatever ?? Doesn’t make sense ! Do not make an obsession for this guy! Doesn’t worth it, believe me!
