On all the hospital bag lists I've seen it recommends taking a dressing gown.
The thing is, I have two and they're both TINY on me now - wayyy too tight and short. I don't really want to take either of them as they're too small now, and I don't want to fork out money for a new one either if they may fit again after the baby is born.
Is it actually necessary? Did anyone not take one and miss it, or not?

I took one with my first baby, it was just a really thin cotton one. It's definitely not necessary, it's mainly just if you'd like to cover up a bit more, or if you get chilly on the ward. I found it easier to breastfeed in because I didn't have to take it off.
I'll be taking one again when I go into have my second.
