Cow Milk and babies

Hi moms! I’m a bit confused with the information online about cow milk.. my baby is mainly breastfed but with BLW I see lots of recipes including cow milk.. LO is now 10 months old, is it ok to use cow milk in recipes for a baby under a year old? TIA 🥰

I was told by my health visitor cows milk in recipes like scrambled eggs for example are okay, obviously just not on its own until a year old. I’ve given my daughter mash potato and eggy bread that’s had whole milk used in it.

You can it in cooking but not as a drink on its own

I spoke with my health visitor about this yesterday.. for recipes/cooking, babies can have full fat milk or butter. Water is only for having sips of from 6 months. When they’re a year old they can drink full fat milk x

Definitely okay, we switched from formula to whole milk at 9 months because my son refused all fluids suddenly and I couldn't get him to drink anything so we figured early was better than dehydrated. He did well with it and our pediatrician was perfectly fine with it

In cooking it's 100% okay. You just don't want to give it as a drink as then you're reducing breastmilk consumption which is still #1 nutrient source. Even after a year you don't need to switch to cows milk if breast feeding and are okay giving other calcium intake like using it in cooking or other dairy products.

My daughter is now 5.5 years old but in cooking/meals from 6 months old and we was advised by the health visitor at 10 months to do bottles half formula and half cows ready for a year old and been on full cows milk. Xx

Yep they can have cows milk just not as their main source of milk as it doesn’t have all the other vitamins etc that breast milk and formula has x

Baked or cooked cows milk changes the proteins so babies can tolerate it. So like muffins, cupcakes, yogurt, cheese. Just avoid straight cows milk until after a year. It’s better to introduce it that way so they don’t develop an allergy

Yes absolutely, and no it does not have to be cooked, it’s absolutely fine on weetabix or on cereal for example. They just say not as a drink because formula/ breastmilk should be their main drink until age 1.

You can use milk in food, but just don’t replace breast milk/formula with cows milk

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!
