Improve keloid scar

Hi lovely, scar therapist here. Keloids work best with silicone sheeting. It is expensive but worth it. Scarban do a reusable strip. Best worn at least 20hrs a day. Your scar will continue to change for up to 2 years pp, it's classed as immature up until that point 😊

yes silicone sheets will work with any keloid 😊

even though it's past the adaptable stage you should find silicone will give you some relief! Sometimes steroids don't work for keloids as they are classed as an 'active' scar as it grows beyond the boundary of the scar and steroids can help with pain but can make it become more active if that makes sense? I would definitely give silicone sheeting a go. At the very least it will suppress and calm the nerve signals you're getting from it! It may not change the appearance as much but it'll help with the sensations ☺️

Scarban do a c section specific kit or there is also other types of silicone they do. The main thing to look for is that it's high quality 100% medical grade silicone. I personally like the c section kit as its reusable whereas a lot of sheeting is one use only and can get expensive!

Yes always remove as much hair as you can around the scar so the silicone can compress the scar fully ☺️
