Has anyone been diagnosed with a UTI infection after a urinary test? My doctor prescribed antibiotics to prevent possible severe issues in the future, but I’m afraid to take any medication even if the doctor says it is safe. There are some potential side effects of the antibiotics that I read on the instructions from the pharmacy that scare me a lot. I googled that I can treat UTI infection naturally by drinking water and cranberry juice, eating a lot of garlic, and taking extra vitamin C. This treatment seems much safer for me, and I’m planning to change my pregnancy diet to be as healthy as possible. Does anyone have stories on UTI infections? Please share.
I’m 18 weeks pregnant, and it is my first baby.

I’ve always managed to fix a UTI by drinking a whole bottle of 100% cranberry juice in a day. 😅 I’m not sure if that amount of cranberry or sugar could have an impact on pregnancy, but I’d guess it is probably less risk than the antibiotics. I definitely recommend researching just in case!
Also, make sure the juice is cranberry only! It’s hard to find one that isn’t a blend of other juices or a cocktail with tons of added sugar. Make sure you check the ingredients on the back label! I’m a fan of Lakewood or RW Knudsen brands - I think you can get them at Kroger or a local natural food store. 😌

I know having to many vitamins in you're body isn't good either so make sure you're not taking to much vitamin c I've heard it can cause a miscarriage but it does take a lot of it to do that

I wouldn’t take medication. Try the natural way like you’re doing.

I have a history of UTI in my previous pregnancy. I would and have taken antibiotics. Your UTI can worsen even with natural remedies and cause kidney infection which is much harder to get rid of, and much more detrimental for you and your unborn baby. I have had kidney infection before and it was not a fun time. I took amoxicillin in my first pregnancy 2-3 x and my 2.5 year old came out completely normal and is completely normal and healthy overall.

100% Cranberry juice with no sugar! I ain't take the meds either n it went away with a day or 2 days

Oh n if ur having sex lay off for about 3 days to a week 🤫

D-mannose is much more effective than cranberry juice and is safe during pregnancy. Most UTI’s are caused by e-coli. If taken at the start of the infection, it can be very effective. I believe you need 5g a day for 3 days along with a lot of water. You can also do cranberry but make sure it doesn’t have sugar added. If it does not work within 3 days, I would absolutely go to the antibiotics. https://thelowdown.com/blog/uti-when-pregnant
