Can I still leave the house if I’m testing positive for covid but feeling fine?

Had covid last week and feel fully recovered now but still testing positive on lateral flow tests. Do you think it’s still ok to go to a baby class tomorrow if we’re both well? Nhs guidance says only to isolate for 5 days which I have but wondered what others would do. Will be a week since my first positive tomorrow.

You’re only contagious for 5 days so I was told so if you’re over 5 days you’re fine to go about your business :)

You've got to think is it worth it? If you pass it on to a baby or another mum how would you feel? I would suggest if you do decide to go that you wear a mask.

according to the nhs website it says "Many people will no longer be infectious to others after 5 days, but you can be infectious for up to 10 days." so the 5 day advice might not necessarily be true. Might be true but no guarantee x

I don’t mean this to sound nasty or rude, but I would be pretty pissed if someone came to a baby class I was in knowing they had Covid 😬

this is why I’ve asked on here to try and work out what to do, I’m going a bit crazy inside with a young baby and I feel really well now. My partner has been told he can go to work the whole time even if he tests positive. I literally only tested for covid because I had some tests left and my symptoms have been more like a bad cold so I think most people would probably not even realise they’d had it but I don’t want to make anyone else poorly which is why I’ve stayed at home so far.

I would just think how guilty would you feel if you found out one of the babies caught COVID and use that as your deciding factor. Personally I wouldn't go until I tested negative for a couple days as I would worry about the babies all being so young in their immune systems still and how devastating COVID can be on them

Also to add you can still be testing positive for weeks afterwards
No one can avoid normal life for that long

Guidance in education is adults 5 days contagious and don’t need to retest after them 5 days to return to work 🤷🏻‍♀️

After having a 5 week old with Covid over Xmas I would say avoid until you get a negative test or the 10 days are up. It’s not worth the risk x
