Iโm actually the opposite and really excited. It might not be your thing but Iโve been looking into hypnobirthing and the book Iโm reading is really helping me look at birth in a positive way. Iโm not naive to the fact it probably wonโt go to plan but itโs really interesting and helping me feel more at ease xx

I am scared too.... so I got a hypnobirthing online course and have a book coming in the post with positive birth stories written by a midwife who advocates more natural birth. The best thing I heard was "knowledge dispels fear" I haven't done much of the course yet but she explains the process your body is going through at each stage so I feel like I'll be more prepared when it all starts happening. I think finding out as much as possible and reading positive stories will help ! Our bodies are made to do this, a lot of interventions can interrupt the natural process of birth and lead to more interventions ! Personally I think im going to opt for an epidural and gas and air for my first birth even though I'm soooo tempted to try natural ๐คฃ๐

I was scared for my first, but when the time came I got through with just gas and air! The stitches are the worst part as I needed to have a cut ๐๐ I won't lie and say it doesn't hurt, but it is true about the forgetting part! I only remember the stitches now! X

I'm quite scared and excited too ๐ would you be kind to share the hypnobirthing book you have purchased please? Thank you โค๏ธ

I actually have only good stories about birth with my first.
I though the pain would be like your literal vagina hole stretching ๐
but you don't feel anything down that end. Just like really intense cramping pain as your hormones take over. It's a super weird experience and it is painful but many women go on to have multiple children so it isn't all bad.
My first they worried his heart rate was too high and he got stuck with my pushing for over an hour so I had an episiotomy (cut and stitches) and honestly they numbed me so well I didn't feel a thing with that. I even offered to walk up to the other ward afterwards ๐คฃ
The aftercare is painful but the joy of having your baby completely negates that!
I did pain puke all over my husband at one point so it wasn't all roses and I needed extra pain relief but when people say you forget the pain afterwards.. you really do!

I'm terrified and I've already had 2 kids ๐คฃ๐คฃ you never know what's going to happen until it happens. Child birth is a weird thing, no experience is ever the same, can't wait though, the moment you meet your little one is the best feeling in the world ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ

For my first, I tried to go into it with an open mind, I was not ruling anything out like an epidural. I had never experienced birth so I could not make any judgements on the pain in relation to my body.
However, this time round, I will researching more about the birth options I have. I was young with my first and was made to have an induction for no reason. So please research everything and have an open mind. Itโs not going to be scary, just a new experience that will amaze you on how strong your body is! x

Iโm opposite too! I donโt like being pregnant as Iโm always poorly from start to finish but giving birth is amazing! When I had my little girl I was petrified and it wasnโt half as bad as I thought it was going to be, I know everyone is different but honestly giving birth is magical xxx

I was sooooo weirdly calm first time round and with my little girl, until I went through child birth! now I am absolutely dreading it for my 2nd ๐๐ฉ

This is my 3rd and I am very much looking forward to it , I love both of mine I had to have stitches with my Frist that was prob the worse part but the over all giveing birth was amazing with both of them and canโt wait to do one last and final time

Try not to read to many horror stories as every women and birth are different I had to nice births but my 3rd could not be every birth is diffrent you can plan it down to the last bit but it all what happen in room on the day just listen to your body and just know at the end of it you have the best gifd no matter the birth the pain itโs all worth it in the end x

I got the popthatmumma hypnobirthing course (she's on instagram) and a book called Ina mays guide to childbirth

Me im so scared

Im terrified, I saw a picture yesterday and started panicking about what I've done. ๐คฃ I love my baby and want them so badly, but my god, I'm scared!! I have the option for cesarean, but even that sounds horrifying.

I'm terrified too girl and this is my second ๐

I'm having a csection and I'm terrified now not due til April x

If people start to tell you their birth stories, ask if it's a good or bad experience. If they say bad, ask them to refrain from sharing right now. It'll only get into your head. Labor and birth is obviously challenging but it can be a wonderful experience. Educate yourself as much as possible. Take out of hospital birth class. Learn what you desire for your labor and birth and be sure to do the things to make that happen. I had a wonderful unmedicated water birth with my first. It was hard but amazing.
