I was only going to buy up to 3 months. But yesterday I picked up a couple of sleep suits in 3-6 months in the sale but I prob won’t buy any more because it’ll give me somewhere to go and do when I’m on maternity leave with the baby. Also most people seem to tend to buy 3-6 months when they buy you clothes as a present

My advice from having my first is if you see a bit you like in a bigger size buy it as you go along, it likely won't be around when you actually need that size. Plus it spreads the cost rather than having to buy a whole new wardrobe at once. Also consider the seasons for each age so March babies will be in the 6m plus sizes in autumn and winter

I’ve been getting a lot from charity shops so anything under a year that’s good I’ve been getting. There’s also a 10 for £1 section so I’ve been getting anything and everything from that bin that is good enough quality. I even got an age 2-3 dress the other day! I don’t know what I’m having yet 😆 anything I don’t need I’ll just donate back

I’ve got her bits and pieces from newborn to 12-18 months, but of course I have more stuff for up to 3 months. I just think it won’t break the bank as much when it comes to needing to size up in outfits!

I won't lie, we brought mostly newborn and 0-3. We then asked others if they want to get clothes to get in bigger sizes so we have stuff ready. So we have a bag of 3-6, 6-9, 9-12 and 12-24mths ready. Obviously not enough of the larger sizes but we have started building them up

You don’t need to get them yet but I like to keep an eye on the sales everywhere and pick up bits in future sizes for good prices! They will fit them one day

I bought the next size when my son was wearing the one before (so would buy 3-6 when he was in 0-3). I bought everything on Vinted so used to enjoy browsing the next set of clothes during the night feeds! If you’re buying bigger sizes in advance don’t forget to factor in what season it will be

I’d personally wait. If I followed size guides with my first baby she’d have been 9-12 in summer clothes but instead I had to buy 6-9 for her. You don’t know what size they’ll be fitting into for each season etc so could be a waste of money x

I’ve gotten all ages up until 9 months, we don’t need them but why wait until you have baby, it will be harder to go out with a baby, and if you see any sales why not, ? Plus i done my shopping during sales so it all worked out, I’m good for clothes now don’t need to worry about shopping till baby is much older

@Katie I 100% agree with this. It's nice to buy a few bits, but my 1st daughter did not put on weight as expected and we ended up with lots of summer clothes she didn't ever get to wear because they were far too big for her.

I have been buying bundles here and there and brought some boxes so I can start storing every age up to 1 and a half years as I can imagine money is going to be tight 😊

I've not bothered buying over 0-3 months yet as it depends on how big/small baby boy is what sizes he will fit in during the different seasons so it's hard to tell. I know someone who's baby was really small and always in the size behind and someone else who was always in the size above, so wouldn't want to waste money if it didn't fit them and wasn't suitable for the time of yese
