Mould in bedroom

We’ve just opened the curtains in our bedroom to find the window and wall next to it completely covered in black mould. It’s about 1 meter away from where my 5 month olds crib is and I’m super worried. We’ve cleaned and dried the area and opened the window to air the room out but is it safe for my son to sleep in there tonight?? He’s had a cough for the past few weeks and I just assumed it was a cold but now wondering if it’s because of the mould??

I have the same issue in ny room, ( I have been living here for only two months) have to wipe my windows every single morning as they get very wet during the night specially in this cold days…. I texted me landlord complaining and asking for a dehumidifier or special paint for the walls…. I honestly think they should take care of it

I don't mean to scare you but mould can cause long term health issues in adults and babies. Coughing is one way a baby would react to mould exposure. Is there another room you can all sleep in for the time being before you get a professional in to help clear the mould? I don't think cleaning and drying is enough

Also please contact your doctor and tell them about the mould exposure and the coughing. I hope you manage to sort this soon 🙏💕

Thanks so much everyone! I was super worried so moved my sons cot into the living room and we all slept in there last night! We have a doctors appointment to get him checked out this afternoon and currently awaiting HV to call back to advise what to do next. Landlords also been informed so hopefully will have it all sorted soon 🤞 x
