Have seen some of the better brands in boots and other stores selling from newborn.
What’s the consensus for them for newborns?
Thanks

For me personally I wouldn’t bother and haven’t with both my children. I think it’s one less thing to have to remove from them later and if you allow them to have them too long it does impact their teeth.

I’m doing the MAM dummies but only for the first year because it’s meant to help with SID’s I don’t know if it’s true and does or just a fad but my dentist recommended for the baby only the first year because I was worried about baby teeth.

Some love them, some babies reject them. I've been told by nct, if planning to breastfeed, try not to use bottles or dummies till 6weeks old to avoid nipple confusion. I didn't plan on a dummy for my first born but found it a lifesaver out and about to soothe him, think he was a couple months old when he first had them I weaned him off them to night time only over a couple of years and he stopped having them by 3 years old.

I used a dummy for the first 3 months with my first and then binned them all! Just helped with bottles after wanting to combi feed x

We didn't want to use a dummy at first, but we ended up using tommee tippe dummies for the first 4/5 months then bibs dummies since, little boy is a year old now. It helped a lot tbh. We tried soothing in so many ways and a dummy ended up being the best thing. We plan to use the same dummies again.

I brought some from homebargins for my second (whom I’m 41 weeks pregnant with). I brought some for my daughter (she’s 3 now) when she was born and she never took to them, I breast fed her and she ended up using me as a dummy 😭 I wish she had used a dummy instead of me she was in that stage until I had to give up breastfeeding when she turned 8 months

I use tesco dummies on my almost 3 week old little boy the only one's likes tbh and they are cheap to buy/replace but will only be using it until he is a year is not younger then that. He only uses it when he goes to bed for the night or in the car and he sleeps for a lot longer if he uses one before bed x
