Toddler diaper change

Every time I have to change my toddlers diaper he literally throws the biggest tantrum like as if he’s in pain I literally feel like I’m fighting off a bear trying to change his diaper. And it’s not like he has a diaper rash cause I check. Is this normal? Is this a toddler thing or do you think something is wrong?

Do you change him on a changing table? Is he in daycare/have childcare? There’s a couple of things that might affect this. If not let him change himself and you help when needed. Or give him toys to play with while doing so

How old is the toddler? There’s a difference on ways to approach this situation.

Didn’t realize it was the august 2021 page… unless there is a development delay I would try to get him to participate as much as possible. At this age it could mean he is ready to get rid of diapers and use the potty. Is that offered and available? Talking about everything you’re going to do and letting him understand what is happening even something as simple as a diaper change can help them calm down. No distractions at all. If they’re rushing to get back to a toy or watch tv or have fomo allow time between changing diapers and whatever they were doing

My toddler gets like this too. She started that around 18 months, I finally got fed up and had to pop her butt and she stopped for awhile. She has started it up again so you aren’t alone 😅
